Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

no VSP announced here in NM.

I got info from my friend. Murthy is currently reviewing headcount by each group and identifying headcount reduction opportunities by consolidating work and getting rid of extra team. Especially Hard IP team has excessive staff compared to number of IP deliverables wrt other competitors like qualcomm/broadcom etc. DDR team itself is > 200 people vs industry standard of max 30 headcount. Not sure about exact timeline but he expects in second half.

Once the financial data is in next week the numbers will be crunched for year end targets and filters applied. Expect ISP letters in the post early June

@1jqp - I think your question is for @hht, not me (I'm @hml). @hht was saying to 'wait for the end of the year' and I responded that would work well for me timing-wise should that happen. :)

Wait for end of year. There will be 20% layoff. Intel is in deep sh-- with BK's bullshit management. He will fly away with big drone designed specifically for him.

I asked my manager and he said he's heard nothing on the topic (he knows I want to leave and would take a package) Not that he was telling the truth, I have no way of knowing that.
