Of course more layoffs coming. And of course they will pay you what they can get away with. SLB is a different company. PK is not Gould, never will. He is shooting from the heap. Leave O&G before its too late. Wait, it is already too late.

HR asked me to pay them $10,000 if i wanted to get out of the no compete and to get their permission to use SLB name on my CV. She said the company has estimated that the SLB name on the CV of ex employees is undervalued and a corporate initiative has been started to take advantage of this cost opportunity in todays market. I didnt know we need permission to use the company name on my cv?

Paying severance is at the discretion of the company. If they like you, they will pay and be fair. If you pissed someone off and they haven't forgotten, they will not pay you. Its in the Handbook, read it...

No. It is written into their benefits program. But big whoop, it's capped at $13,000 for hourly workers. Salary people have a similar cap.
