Thread regarding Schlumberger Ltd. layoffs

iola's package recipients be cautious

Little bird landed on my shoulder today. some of the iola packaged employee's from a yr ago SLB sent home (1 yr leave) have ended here end of March. One ongoing case - HR did not call the employee before the 1yr contract was up which they're suppose to as it states. Now that the contract has expired, the employee has emailed and called HR and Mgr. HR is not responding, Mgr is playing dumb. Now it has only been 5-10 days with this, hopefully SLB will fulfill these contracts and be good on their word and handling of this down turn.

I wanted to post this not only for my own awareness but to pre-warn others that get offered this package to be cautious and to ask more detailed questions about how its suppose to function

There is a friend of mine. He got informed by HR to be ready by end of April. Was sad looking at him as he is just shaking as they refuse to tell him how much will he receive on the top of iloa. Probably nothing, just peanuts.

This is insane and so very treacherous..I am still on ILOA and while talking to the HR two weeks ago, they ensured that they have no plans of terminating people on ILOA and that no ILOA recipient has been terminated till date..And here we see someone has been laid off after serving 1year of this mentally torturing agreement.

Can you kindly share from which Area or Segment have the ILOA person been laid off

have not heard of any yr ago hands called back and put back to work. of course these individuals are just now coming into play so sure word is bout to get around soon. did hear a hand the other day was only offered a iola, person asked for severance so to get on with life and slb hr rep. said nope, that isn't offered, iola or zero and termination. one side at least slb is trying to be fair and take care of people they want to come back. but there is no work so these iola's will start piling up and I bet they do not know what to do. even if they call you back, one will probably not get the same position, place of residence, and salary will be adjusted to lower. I just do not see any benefit in this program, very few can sit around and not work for a yr.

You don't need to be Hi Pot to be on iLOA, but you do need to worth somewhat of a damn in order to have it be offered. It's a way to make people in certain positions feel that SLB is maybe interested in keeping them, but their salary takes a back seat to PIP, SIP, executive comp pkgs, and stock dividend.

Any idea if the people on ILOA are being called back or if anyone have been terminated after the end of 1year(ILOA contract)

I would suggest not to use those words. There are so many hipots who were in a wrong place and wrong time. Otherwise why would slb to invest in ILOA? For dumbs?

Are u an idiot? Hi pots are not offered iloa. They r kept onboard to begin with or transferred. Best way to keep high talent is to not send them away to begin with.

Well...I know a person who is waiting too. Not sure who wrote this comment, BUT, let be a bit optimistic on that.

Firstly, iLOA is a way to sustain key employees SLB does not want to lose (well, I do not want to discuss that SLB is crap and so on, its happening everywhere, enough to check any other company on this website). So, what I would like to higlight, iLOA is given to limited number of people (by invitation only)

I do not think SLB want to f... up then whith talented employee (those who's been selected considering to be hi pots) goes to client company and gives a trouble having a bad memories.

Secondly, this piece of paper has a legal purpose and can be used as an evidence if reviewed in the court. do you think that SLB wants extra troubles?

not sure on that...however, share your experience if you have any.
