A lot of people are out of work. Sure, some weren't so great and got layed off. Others wee great and still got layed off. Have a heart for those who want to work and can't. It could be you next do don't go saying mean and hateful things. Point is that Noble management has made a lot of mistakes and run the company nearly in the ground and the non managers are paying dearly for those mistakes. Management at all levels should feel the same pain as the rank and file or MORE since they are totally responsible. Criminy, any idiot knows it to pay too much for assets and it to get into too much debt.

Its highly unlikely they will sell what I operate. Yes, it's always a possibility. I'll just have to go with the asset. It's the type of things I don't stress over; because it's totally out of my control. I wish everyone the best that's here and have recently left.

So you work in the field, fair enough. You're lucky then to avoid the day to day office nonsense. However that doesn't mean you're immune to the consequences. This GAP crap effects everything at Noble. It's blinded management and adversely affected their judgement (if they had any that is). They're making extremely costly mistakes and undermining the companies financial stability. That effects everyone including you. One of these days they might just sell that field you work on or part of it to keep this clown car rolling. What will happen to your job then? Don't say you haven't been warned.

I've been here 3 years. I also work at the grunt level too. I'm not managing a group of people. Just keep the wells flowing and not hurt myself or things around me. I also have no ambition to ever work in the office. It pays way more out in the fields.

If you've never been to GAP maybe you have not been at Noble long enough. It's three days of nonsense and complete drivel. What is odd is that Noble itself does not practice any of the tenants preached in GAP. However, if you don't "buy-in" your days are numbered. Don't be caught disparaging GAP!

This site is about layoffs not ra-ra Noble. If you don't want to hear the dirt then don't come here. If you like only cheerleader BS go to the next quarterly forum and stick your nose up the executive teams butt.

If you work in the field perhaps management doesn't consider you important enough to include in GAP training. If that's the case, consider yourself lucky. Anyone in the office has or will be run through the 3 day indoctrination program, especially those that work in Houston. It's wasted time and mind numbing stupidity. As for "pulling it out of the ground, making money" look again. Noble's selling product but poor decisions like Rosetta, the Falklands, the offices, etc, etc are spending more cash than the wells are bringing in. Excluding onetime items for the quarterly report doesn't result in real profits.

What's your job function then? I'm at the well pulling it out of the ground, making money. So all that gap stuff I read here. I've never once seen or heard of it. Until it was read here.

You might hope that we stay. We are the ones that know what we are doing and how to make the company money. Who knows though when we do leave, you just might have to get your nose out of your phone and actually work! What a concept!

Sorry, guess I didn't drink enough of the GAP Kool-Aid. YES first chance I get I will take my leave and watch from the side-lines as YOUR company implodes.

That's the way I feel to OP. Everyone will come to somewhat hate their company. I like it here though.
