The whole process was rediculous. Without merit; Group managers become Directors, Directors become Sr. Directors, Sr. _individual contributors become lead individual contributors, nothing individual contributors become Sr. ___ individual contributors, Engineering managers become Sr. Engineering managers.....and on and on and on. Wtf did this nonsense cost the company. Title changes, that is what you think will make everyone happy around here? Can't wait for the next BTS, annual ritual to explain to very senior leaders what idiots they are.

1gto was right, a number of Directors, Sr Directors and VPs have left for greener pastures in the last couple weeks. As soon as new titles passed out and bonus checks cashed, they were buh bye. This will excellerate in next couple months. Nice job C-Suite!
Sigh. Let me guess. You became less important than you used to think you were based on a title that is now shared by people you consider inferior, you have no clue how out of whack titles had been compared to other companies (Target titles were generally 2-3 levels less than other companies), you're an idiot or some mixture and blend of all the above.
But I'm just a lowly PG2 ... what do I know.
Schmuck.
If you were in touch with industry standards you would know that the titles are not inflated but were deflated over the years compared to other companies.
It is only a title. No big deal.
Please close the door on your way out!Buh Bye
The result will be deemed: "Senior screw up", or "Executive Mess"...
Absolutely insane. A whole lot of f@&$ery going on.
I agree, its madness. Its like everyone is a "Sr." or "Lead" for doing nothing walking around all happy like they earned something. It makes no sense why they did this...They devalued the meaning of a leader, not everyone can be a leader duh....morons....
Now that incentive checks have been cashed senior leaders are starting to resign. Big surprise, new fancy titles not enough to keep them during this mess.
I am seeing this in my area, too, although they haven't bothered to officially announce it. I guess I am less concerned about the stupid inflated titles than I am about potential raises that accompanied them. That would really hurt. In related news, Brian Cornell is now the Grand Poobah of Target.
