Thread regarding Chesapeake Energy Corp. layoffs

West Virginia assets

Has anyone heard who is buying the West Virginia assets? CHK has been restructuring some things that tells me they did sell it or are at least in the process of selling. By restructuring i mean taking their name from certain places and leaving it blank. A heads up if anyone hears who bought it would be nice and appreciated. thanks

CHK needs to give the employees an update as to what the status is of the sale. People are going crazy, moral is bad and people have put their every day lives on hold for this sht! And that's exactly what it is.......SHT!!!!

ECA does not have the man power to cover the area, I worked there, great company and people, they will want people who know the areas and pipelines already it's not that simple to just replace people.

If ECA buys it, they will not take the field employees. No body wants a union anymore. They are to restrictive.

I appreciate the feedback. Anything out there to say for sure its ECA a lot of jobs on the line in this area if they just bring in their own people.

Why would EQT buy it when they are trying to sell assets in the exact same operating area?

Would make sense. They had some decent exploration wells down in Kentucky and west of charleston I believe.

It's all speculation of course but one thing I was shown by an employee in the region was his paycheck stub. The bank has changed that they used to get their checks from. The bank they switched to is the same as EQT. Any validation to this?

I'm assuming the original post is referring to the Devonian Assets? I highly doubt SWN would by 4500 POS wells that are on a VPP until 2020.
