As a 18 year former employee, I completely agree. Rather than retain talent, they are trying to engineer ways of doing business without talent.

that's so true. The company has put together an elite group who would do all the thinking for the rest of us, you do exactly what they tell you to do, no discussion, or you will be blacklisted. Experience, loyalty, sense of responsibility to the organization and profession will be counted against you. Once populated by good, enthusiastic technical people it's now hard to find an spirited engineers... My kids and my neighbor's kids will not work for a company that has lost for the most part its way and its value.

Schlumberger no longer wants people that are loyal or people that can think for themselves. They want people that are short term and think short term. It's a new regime. They want people and companies that will conform to their new way of thinking. They want apathetic robots. People and managers who lack compassion. I have seen the company evolve into something that I am no longer proud of. The new transformation is embarrassing. I know employees there that are third generation Schlumberger. I would discourage any of my kids from working at Schlumberger. I would discourage any fresh out from working at SLB. Thankfully the new generation is smarter than that. Good luck trying to find fresh talent in the years to come. You have lost so much experience. To the executives and managers, you are nothing but pawns. Best of luck clambering your ladder. Rot in hell.
