Thread regarding Education Management Corporation layoffs

No more Saturdays.....

We were just informed last week that were no longer going to be open every Saturday... We'll be open for 1 open house per month and maybe another event... They claim Saturdays were "unproductive" and gave us less staff later in the week... But, that was a perk of the job... Being able to flex your hours. Many feel that eliminating Saturdays is a way to save money, without cutting jobs... This is all to happen starting in July---beginning of new fiscal year... While our office hits most starts, we have a ton of late cancels, or backouts, which Im sure screw up enrollment and help us cheat the system even more. With all the talks of a teach out our office continues to hire new Ada's.. So, I'll continue to collect my check and submit job applications, but I'm done with Edmc and their bullshit tactics, new methods of enrollment and pursuit of the uneducated potential applicant. It's sad.

Not sure how you can make the determination that one campus is on it's way out... While I feel for people potentially losing their jobs, and fee sorry for the students who will have non-transferable credits, I think that ALL of these for profit schools should have felt more of a punishment than they did. They've burned so many people by way of abusing student loans, not being forthcoming with their practices (from the beginning) and basically selling students an education that's going to be worthless in the end. Will potential employers even hire AI grads? It's scary to think that they could potentially continue this business model for another 6mos to a year.

your campus is on its way out. Hopefully it'll all be over before summer. Take a trip.

Should have happens a longtime ago. The amount of income compared to the amount of wage plus benefits should have made it an easy decision. But then again, corporate heads are so much more insightful. Hahaha. Omg I crack myself up.
