The company seems to be suffering from a gaggle of extremely poor leaders. There is little evidence of business strategy beyond reducing costs by stopping the development of new products, technologies, and more recently the decimation of the workforce. There are 2 main types of worker at STX. Those that have been there a few years and are waiting for a payout, and those who are more recent hires and are either already leaving or doing their best to escape the chaos. Sadly the management are generally apathetic and seem to be out of ideas how they can use the formidable resources the company has at its disposal. By the time the figure it out we will all be gone...

Title says it all. Directionless Directors!!
Seagate Derry is top heavy with management and dead wood. The whole business model is pathetic and too many people looking after themselves and not the people who actually put in a days work.
A company run by a banker for shareholders. Not a nice place to work. Thank God it will soon cease to exist in the way it is going. Waiting to see Luczo offload all his shares...probably anonymously through a Panamanian financial institution.
60 layoffs in springtown and all temps gone. Not announced yet.
Moved on from Seagate.
Laying off your most experienced engineers and technicians in favor of/and catering to inexperience mellienials and aggressive stooooopid cost cutting measures to save a fraction of a penny that ended up costing money to fix problems that resulted is prescription for disaster.
SMT is short-sighted on cost cutting instead of investing in people resources & shoring up R&D spending, and wasting vast intellectual resources sitting on the sidelines. Financial engineering has taken over real engineering.
Seagate has not taken care of its people that made them great. They laid them off instead. I guess that is the Seagate Way. Morale was pretty bad all around.
What is the point of the marketing team? They run the worst campaigns, very few know anything about the product and the directors do absolutely nothing.
I was at Seagate for a long long time and I cannot agree more with the comment that over 90% of the directors are useless and would not get a job elsewhere. Their primary role is to attend meetings and forward emails up and down the management chain.
Evault is a great example of the cost cut focus. A profitable business was cost cut into worthlessness! I would expect the same to result from more recent acquisitions as well as the primary businesses.
Mosely is one of the worst leaders I've ever worked under. He has an incredible lack of caring for any of the employees and failed miserably the last time they promoted him upward. Since they repromoted him things have slid downhill fast. No direction and a no respect for employees.
Truth, this is most obvious by all the recent hires of ex-WD staff. We have all markets decreasing, PC and Channel at very aggressive rates, why would we hire expensive people who most likely will not be here very long.
