ConAgra is following Acosta's business model. Acosta is trying to absorb Regional Sales Managers jobs from existing clients in house for Acosta's; "Regional Brokerage Experience." RBE-alignments are not just being sold to ConAgra but to all Acosta's clients to eliminate the need for a Regional Mfg presence. Their philosophy at Acosta is page one in the Carlyle hand-book; "Buy'em, Strip'em and Flip'em
and this is why I hope that no former conagran goes to Acosta. Why should ConAgra benefit from our knowledge after they have let us go? Let alone only pay out 1/2 of the severance. I'm not applying, I already deleted the link to the micro site for Acosta. No way. You will also not get a car. Maybe get a car allowance for less than a year before they take it away. And bonus and merit increase? You will never get one. You will find that you are probably already paid more than every other Acosta person, so you will also be taking on additional brands/ company lines. This is why Acosta sales reps are hated in the industry. They are good people who are spread too thin to be effective. They have persistently had this reputation. I have friends who worked for them. It is a hell hole. You are there by 7 am and leave at 7 pm and still are not able to accomplish. You are inundated so much that you will not have the opportunity to look for a job. The only good thing about working for Acosta is that you get to meet so many different manufactures that you can network. Good luck to all, I hope NONE of the sales force goes to Acosta. NONE. Screw ConAgra just like they have screwed us.
Acosta, as it is now, will not be selling. It will be the Conagra sales people that Acosta hires, for less money, less benefits. See how this works.....Conagra gives severance packages to CAG sales that are laid off. 12 weeks plus one week for each year or 24 weeks plus one week for each year. This, of course, is paid out over the same number of weeks. UNTIL THAT SALES PERSON GETS A JOB...which in this case would be INSTANTLY. Do you see what I'm saying. Conagra wants sales people to take the Acosta positions. Same people, same accounts, same knowledge. Conagra gets all the rewards, Acosta has OUR people and Conagra only owes 1/2 the severance payout because the sale people all took the bait, I mean jobs. Pretty crappy isn't it?
True - the bottom of the barrel - this is what's going to happen - they will profit in the short term, Sean and Execs will get fat bonuses, and they will bail after some time and that will kill the company - this is how ConAgra was killed
You get what you pay for and Acosta was the lowest bid. Acosta sales people at store level are part time making $12-$15 an hour and high turn over rate.
Now let's see how Acosta sells - I do not believe this will work
