BC is getting closer and closer to realizing his dream of turning Target into a single corner store selling Pepsi and chips. Congrats!
Small urban stores are not the answer..you don't need to be a genius to figure that out. Lower volume and Square footage less high margin items. Built in cities where wages are higher. Would you rather have 10 stores making 10-25mil or 10 stores making 40-60 million. Let's be smart here it's a ploy
This just in. Amazon does not need small format stores to put Target out of business. Which is what is happening. Right now.
target is going to do anything they can to make wall street believe that they are growing.
Target has proven it can open stores and be successful in urban markets....where Walmart cant. Just like Walmart can open rural stores where Target cant. Small format stores for Target are doing very well and aren't going away...in fact, there are more set to open this year than 2015.
I don't think they are going to go gang busters with tiny stores . Why do you think Walmart just closed all of there small stores. They cannibalize your other nearby stores sales and add overhead. As usual Target is 5 years behind the curve. I wonder if Target has thought to open stores in Canada? Just saying.
