Thread regarding Follett layoffs

Why does Follett have stores in Dominican and Puerto Rico??? Even Walmart is recognizing tough market conditions on those areas

“It’s just the nature of the business,” Yarbrough said. “As things move to online, how many supercenters do you really need in the U.S.?”

Outside of the United States, Walmart’s store closure plan primary affects its Latin American market. Of the 115 stores it is shuttering abroad, 60 are money-losing stores in Brazil; Another 55 are located in other Latin American markets.

It is not growth if they are not bringing money into the company.

DR stores are a waste of Follett money. So much has gone into those stores with very little profit, they get all the benefits raises, bonuses etc.

DG opened the DR stores so he could look like BMOC. Remember he was behind the drive to support the associates and their children at Alta Gracia. Those stores are not profitable for Follett.
