Some companies have what it takes others don't. Noble doesn't. They need to sell to a company like EOG or yes Anadarko. Those companies are well run with seasoned professionals, and a top management teams. Noble? NOT!
Environmental stewards? Maybe that is why the State of Colorado imposed a $72 million fine on Noble for methane escaping into the atmosphere. Agreed... some operators are not up to standards. Bottom line Noble makes no money in the DJ. They should sell to Anadarko. Anadarko has badly outperformed Noble in the DJ Basin... not even close.
I'm gonna have to disagree with you on the DJ. I'm not asserting that we are #1 in every category out here (IP/ft, EUR/foot, cost/ft), but we do Betterbthan most, and are probably the best environmental stewards in Colorado. You should see how idiotic some other operators are.
The entire company should close. Noble has always bragged abut their "clean" balance sheet. Are you kidding me? $6.2 billion of long-term debt. $350 million per year in interest expense. They will have to sell assets. They have proven they can't manage an asset and therefore they should sell to someone who can. They should sell their DJ Basin assets to a company who knows what they are doing. Noble has no clue what they are doing. Their shareholders deserve better.

How can you close Canonsburg? Explain this to me? What do we do with the 200 wells? Put them on Craigslist for sale. C'mon man.
