Engine 2

Why isn't anybody complaining that we made that egotistical idiot Rip Essylstyn rich by buying his shitty book and products. Should have spent that money on technology or team members . Oh yeah ....screw Sam Park and that Minardi dude!

He is a marketable image and an exclusive so he works. Whole Foods couldn't compete with substance alone so they're stuck selling images. We're kinda like the American Apparel of food.

Rip is a complete joke. Chris Masterjohn completely destroyed his vegan propaganda with actual science and logic. He sure loves bulking up his disgusting processed fake junk "milks" with gut destroying carrageenan and petrochemical based vitamins. Knives ov er forks is about as scientific as Al Gore's climate change theories.

Rip was in GHL store Nashville 2 years ago pushing his program at a all store meeting. He actually said that eating animal protein will give you a small Dick. 300 people in the room and you could have heard a flea fart. So glad when that freak show was over.

The longest-lived people in the world would be ROTFL over Engine 2. All over the world are simple societies that get proper nutrition from the land without a bunch of absurd pronouncements and edicts that involve spending vast sums of money on taste-free bean dip and cardboard cereal. We are the PT Barnum of the healthy foods trend.

I did the engine 2 thing for about 4 months and was able to drop 30ish lbs i had gained over the winter from stress eating at work. From that I went to a less strict vegan diet for about 3 years and was able to maintain that.

Its a decent starting point and is marketed cold turkey boot camp style so you see immediate results, but it is a bitch to follow. I could never go out to enjoy a meal with family while on it, always had to make special snacks and crap.

Basically the pluses are that you do see results fairly quickly, it makes you more conscious of your choices by forcing you to read labels or make everything from scratch, and I also like to think all the hunger pains made me learn to control my "im pissed because im hungry" outburts. Also, I know i wasnt getting enough greens or grains. The recipes arent terrible, but i sub alot of other items to replace his crappy e2 versions.

Otherwise, it, like any "diet", is not long term or feasible for most people to follow religiously.

For me its always been about healthier choices, portion control and burning the energy I consume so it isnt stored. I learned a few things, but he isnt an inspiration, hes just anothet marketing prop to make the wfm farm more money.

Fyi, the crackers eat like limestone (i may have chipped a tooth), the wraps fall apart and taste like cardboard, and the hummus is more accurately described as a bean dip. They call it that because of the chickpeas and texture, otherwise its a an lie.

Any healthy eating guide will tell you that a diet rich in healthy fats is necessary for both feeling fuller when you eat and maintaining long-term healthy weight. Rip's diet is good for short-term weight loss and drops in unhealthy cholesterol. Then you'll need to stick to a diet containing proper amounts of healthy fat.

My favorite Engine 2 item is the fat free "hummus." I put that in quotes because hummus IS NOT FAT FREE. Real hummus, the kind that people have been eating and enjoying and living on for centuisres, contains tahini, which is sesame oil. It's the priciest ingredient so what does Engine 2 do? It leaves it out with the excuse that oil is evil, according to this ridiculous fad. We don't need fad diets and stupid overpriced food fashion in order to be healthy, we need to eat a balance of natural foods. But then no one can market a bunch of chickpeas mashed up with a few spices for $3.99 for a tiny little container. The only Engine at work is the profit engine working off people's gullibility.

What a joke of a product line. Let's merchandise it right beside Unconscious Capitalism. #wholefoodsmarket

I actually like Rip. I met him at a vendor fair a few years ago. His stuff sells well down here. I was hoping the salsa would make a comeback.

Anyway, I get what you're saying. The way we push expensive brands like the Engine 2 stuff almost implies that we think only the wealthy can eat for health. Meanwhile you can go to Wal-Mart and get decent produce for a week for the price of a box of Rip's Big Bowl. Savvy consumers shop around.

The sad thing is we have a lot of unhealthy TM. They will send them on immersions but then you see them eating McDonalds in the break room. Why? Because there is no follow through! TM can't afford what we sell especially Engine 2. The Healthy Eating and Demo Specialists were the push for this brand. They educated and helped TM. Now that they were all laid off who's going to do it? I don't think Engine 2 is horrible but it is unaffordable. We all make choices about our health but I am sure the Immersions will be gone soon too. America's Healthiest Grocery Store? I think not!

That diet made me sick! Too much fiber too fast and I need meat. By day 9 I felt like I was going to die, ate a hamburger and was fine within an hour.

She's a dudette. LOL... And the Engine 2 Diet is horrible. People in the Mediterranean have been cooking with olive oil for centuries. Moderation is the key but of course they can't create a stupid fad based on the simple concept of moderation.
