Evercore is being paid on monthly retainer, so there was no huge outlay of money to bring them in. The partnership with them is long term and not a one-shot engagement.

Is "everyone" or "Evercore" saying this? Well if they're laying off that many people - what offices/teams/locations are likely to be shut down?

So long Chesapeckers! You can get your participation trophies on the way out.

I work for a different oil company here in OKC. We are hoping you guys can hang in there. You guys have done some really great work in the community here in OKC, Some of you have personally helped my son with tutoring and mentoring. I hate to see bad things happening to good quality people. Good luck guys our prayers are with you and your families.

As far as proof, there really is none to show. As for myself, the only thing I have heard for sure what will happen is a 40% cut of employees and contractors. i do not know when but it was stated that Evercore Partners, which CHK hired, told them it has to happen immediately. One can say without a doubt since they paid Evercore Partners so much money for their "insight" they will probably follow through. stay strong everyone and good luck.
