You poor folks don't understand what is about to happen to your company. As a MI Swaco employee let me tell you life as you know it will be drastically different once SLB takes over. I hope they treat you guys better than they did us.

Yes they will destroy CAM. Already have started- a lot of talk of day one merger and eliminations and groups not going over. good luck everyone. Scott Rowe and Jack Moore were B.S.'ing us about a great merger.
Few of the top managers, HR will let go in the next 2 weeks for bringing the contractors behind the back doors in the last 7 years and swindling many million dollars in the process. SLB's legal department has found out the scale of corruption in IT is unconscionable, it has indicted 7 personnel weren under prism for various corruption charges. The Indictments include 6 IT and one from HR. The management was puzzled with their amass of wealth in the last few years. The message from this announcement should be clear to every culpable individual who remains in the shadows, hoping to evade our investigation: You will not wait us out. You will not escape our focus,"one of the SLB's legal department memo indicated. 12 Vendors are also black listed.
Consultants are hired because i.. employees are dumb ii. Huge commission given to the supervisor, HR and other top officials, you all know that iii. consultants are managers buddy or relatives or girl or boy friends, then why the F**Kin employees are shouting, we wont be laid off, only nonsense employees like you, brainless idiots are employees proven again and again
We contractors give 20% to our supervisors and HR, and this share goes to CIO too, so shut your 8 + 1 holes useless employee, find another job as* Holes
Cameron is Contractors Paradise ( They come to work only 3 days, any time they can stay at home, but they always bill 50 hours per week minimum). We still have contractors paid $250/hr.+ Boarding + Lodging + Flightfare.....Contractors and the managers that hired them looted this company, Cameron is dead under water because of these traitors... F**K of these donkey SHIT managers. & HR .
What is there to layoff? IT is now very thin compared to last year. Employees are the scapegoats of the management failure by spending 145% more for SAP implementation than planned (New Implementation didn't do any good for business), spent 130% more for the contractors than budgeted and still date contractors are continuing, so there is huge conspiracy going on against the poor employees like me and I am on my family way and every day I go thru this nonsense issues at Cameron, some one need to take this issue to the court of law against the management to investigate the scam and why the HR policy is so much favoring the contractors, how much % Managers and HR are getting?????
I mean 4 to 6 WEEKS
Another IT layoff on the way in the next 4 to 6 months.
Since last Friday they started moving people to the buildings where there core teams are located (CCD to Travelers to OSS to Briar Park etc). CCD will be cleaned up soon for the SLB's management. Travelers will have all the IT members from April/May time period, by the year end IT will be moved to Technology Center (south west Houston). Travelers lease is coming to an end in Jan 17, like Clay , Travelers will be a chronicle.

SLB has a professional layoffs technique and that's what happened in our IT. Have you heard clean vacuum sweep, wait and watch...Just before we were acquired they laid off the top notch IT leaders & managers, then they promoted group of inexperienced, unproven and unknown people as the managers, once the merger was signed off, alas the recently promoted managers were said good bye and most of our teams were with new managers and slb members and 90% MI Swaco managers/employees were gone. SLB will cut down the contractors and will bring 200% cost reduction, specially they are strict with visa processing, restrict company mobile phones /Travels / Parties and you might be forced to work 45 to 50 hours... They bring special team from Europe for this job, less than 48 hours for the merger to complete .... SLB wishing Cameron one last time a happy valentines day
Of course it doesn't sound too bad. They are selling a pipe dream. No need scaring off some of the talent they might want to retain while systematically reducing the otheres. That and bad press will have a negative effect to an already fragile stock. Get over it. It's just how M&S work. Brush up your resume.
F..k cameron
I don't think it's going to be too bad. At least not what I'm hearing.
Run like you are on fire. There is life away from Camern and it will be my school less stressful. I know, am very happy in new industry with promise.
SLB will force Cameron employees into the culture of Big Blue and make every effort to eliminatet the chemistry that a company and it's long time employees develop . We (MI Swaco) never thought that the culture of caring about each other and our company would be so systematically and efficiently eliminated. SLB will destroy Cameron from the inside out .They know how to do it VERY well. If you Don't believe me just remembert his post a year from now. I wish you luck.
"Influence" and "weight" have nothing to do with it. Remember who bought out who. This isn't a partnership or a merger. A merger occurs when two separate entities combine forces to create a new, joint organization. Like what SLB and CAM did with OSS for a few years. Sure they've been marketing it as a merger but this is a downright acquisition: An acquisition refers to the takeover of one entity by another.
Taking into account that SLB grossly overpaid for CAM (to the tune of $14.8B) I would be looking to reduce capex too. Sell off what assets they can, strip the company to only the essentials and operate lean going forward.
Facilities and offices will be combined to turn out various products. Even with a market turnaround it will take a lot of time for production to get back in business. Think of the amount of equipment that is in preservation. Do you honestly think anyone is going to be paying millions for new equipment. Aftermarket and service is SLBs forte.
Good luck.
@ftoxcI-hat. It's not the company you come from. I gave loyal, honest service to Cameron for 9 years. You're not protected just because the company bigger or with more influence. They've been bought out and the "higher" ups will do what they want, we are all just numbers so to speak, not human beings with feelings. Run while you can.
Weight and influence are deadly sins in this market. SLB will aggressively thin Cameron's weight down (back office will be obliterated) and humble any perception of influence by turning low margin products into pure commodities (spinning them off), reinvent some products, and bundle the rest to focus on their highest margin products and services. The Cameron brand carries no weight beyond that strategy.
How did things change so much, just curious? Cameron is also a much bigger company with a lot more weight and influence.
