Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

After ISP

It's been around 7 months since the ISP. I started working shortly after the big shock. I still can't believe what they did. What was the big hurry? I still come to this site to see how everybody is doing. I feel for those that still have not landed the right job. I wish we could openly help each other beside just post about how Intel is going down. We have to use this network to 1st help each other get back to where we were. I feel like crap thinking about those parents with kids in college etc. There must be ways to do this. I tried helping another friend who was asked to either move to AZ or Oregon and we made him a generous offer but he end up moving to AZ and stayed with the losers. Lets brainstorm and see how we can help. Any idea is welcome.

I was thinking what if we create FB group page to help each other land a job. We are not suing anyone or anything like that just trying to help one another. Thought?

Yep, the ISP people got shafted. No doubt there. I recalled early last week that a few years back we had that fairly nasty reorg followed by skipping the org health survey. Now we had the ISP's and again skipped it. Late last week HR verified that it's now being done on a 2 year cadence. This will be the year we take it in Nov. wonder what's in store early nect year? The economy should be very soft by then.

I think a Facebook page is a noble effort but my personal opinion is that you'll be more effective and have more impact by using LinkedIn. Maybe you want to collect folks and have a discussion about the "rules" for networking on Facebook and then everyone connect on LinkedIn?
