After the September layoff in TTS I was pleasantly surprised at the number and quality of positions that are posted consistently in the Twin Cities. There are good opportunities for anyone who wants to work. Take an honest look at yourself and find a job description that looks like a good fit. The corporate recruiters can provide more information, and help you find the right role. They will not waste your time. They need to fill open positions and they need the right people. Life is too short to stay with a job you don't enjoy. You get to make all the decisions in your life so think it over and make your own plan. Don't act like a victim when YOU COULD BE THE VICTOR!

My former target network has been great post being layes off 3 years ago. Found a job in 5 weeks and has been a source of continued career growth.
On a hopeful note, maybe Jodee's exit will be the beginning of a new day at Target - anyway for those of us in HR. Stick around and see...
I completely agree - the job economy in the TCs is great. Plus, there are thousands of former Target employers now working everywhere else, so there is little reason chain yourself to a sinking ship. Even if you think Target still has some great days ahead in the distant future, you can't disagree that it sucks right now and for the foreseeable future. Even Jodee left.
Target actually has good jobs they just have terrible leaders. That comes from all the years of promoting for all the wrong reasons. The layoffs did not get rid of enough of the problem. If BC squares the leadership away Target can join the ranks of employer of choice again in Minneapolis.
Thanks to all who have posted here. It is great to hear there are options outside of Target and everyone is happy where they have landed. I plan on joining you soon!
Advice to anyone on the fence on whether to stay at Target: create a Linkedin profile, and take the time to make it good. Recruiters will notice and reach out. You may find a much better offer on your plate without having to search very hard.
I thought I was leaving a really great job that I'd never replace when I left Target. I was very WRONG. I like my new company annd job SO MUCH more. If I'd known, I would have left earlier. There are plenty of jobs available.
This is nice to hear. As someone from a department that is going to be liquidated soon, it's nice to get encouragement to look outside of Target and be optimistic about the outcome. That beats taking a step back just to stay with Target.
Great post!
