Thoughts on why so many folks are leaving this facility voluntarily if job cuts are over? Management in Houston starting to question what's happening in the Bluegrass plant.

wow, to the poster that said furloughs coming very soon...you nailed it!
Treat us like mushrooms. They keep us in the dark and feed us a bunch of shit.
Agreed. Out with the old not working system(people) and in with the new. Not Toyota manufacturing this is Sweco. 188 an hr consultant has not improved anything.
^You have to keep in mind that in this business like many others you probably don't want to know "How the sausage is made". What I mean by that is that when it comes down to the plant being managed properly, in a manner that would allow all employees to prosper OR being managed in a way that only allows a select few to benefit, the latter will always take place. The widely accepted theory on "the consultant" is that an envelope is being exchanged at the end of the month with a member of management. Not saying that is the fact but the optics are REALLY BAD. Bottom line is that people are scared, angry, and frustrated with the lack of communication shown by this once great manufacturing facility. A shake up in management with new people coming in from the outside is the only hope to save this place.
Srry,,got off subject. My thoughts on why so many are leaving,,Because upper management couldn't operate a taco stand in tacoville if they had to. Unqualified.underexperienced.micromanaging blank staring close minded delusional inept, would say retard but that would be an insult to all the retards out there.
Houston,,we have a problem. Yes oil is way down and going lower AND it's an election year which we all know is never good for our business. The problem is management wants more and more with less and less. Lasers aren't being serviced unless they break down..they are past due service and maybe running at 75% power now. How much money has the "consultant" made the company? More like lost the company money. Management here doesn't have a clue,,their idea would be to hire another consultant or make more mandatory meetings, IO's RIR's etc. to bring production up. Clock out shop orders lowly bitches while I collect my bonus is their motto.
Who cares anymore anyway. Remember people you are just a number, a warm body to be removed so management, stockholders and overseas big wigs make their bucks!
Well yes, confusion abounds, and who does take care of those official documents now? Wonder what outside certification companies will think about all this mess, lack of leadership and organization. Maybe a big Nonconformance, huh?
Rick Ball? The guy who saved pictures of his weiner on the shared drive?
What does the consultant do, or supposed to do? I was axed prior to any consultant being there (as far as I know of anyways).
agree on mr consultant and the people responsible for keeping him here.3
^Next to go should be the $188/hour consultant or the brain dead manager that signed his two year contract.
Who's next? Who do you think should be next?
The plant has gone downhill ever since they put Rick Ball out on the curb.
pssssssssshh
ALL employees will be told to take furloughs very soon.
White kit kats! Bahaha
That idea certainly works in jail. Just sayin'.............
seriously, they removed your vending machines?
could be a good time to make a little profit from your coworkers ;)
They have to offset their losses in Sweco stock
To the last poster..... at least you HAVE vending machines! :) Ours were removed weeks ago.
but the prices went up in the vending machine....is that really an improvement?
We got the white Kit Kats in the vending machine but nothing other that.
Has anything improved since Mr 1500 was brought in?
Well obviously job cuts are NOT over! As long as we don't have to get rid of our $1500 per day consultant because he has done SOOO MUCH for us. It's like this place is being run by a bunch of 90 year old dementia patients.
Oh noes! Not GN! pfft
If I get canned I'm taking all of this delicious bagged ground coffee with me. I'll clean out the break room cabinets on my way out the door.
Would that be an Observation/Intervention,HSE, or SQ?
I just submitted a HOC Card against this thread. Everybody that responded so far can expect a visit from GN.
There are too many people being underutilized.
At the same time you have people who have a manager title when they manage no one or any type of product line. Way too costly.
Do yourself a favor.....move on. There is life beyond SLB. In fact, life is much better absent SLB.
The feeling of helplessness and hopelessness is over whelming.
Upper management is driving out the good people. The only time you see them is when they are over reacting to a non safety issue.
Is the problem with Florence management more of an upper management problem or does it begin at lower levels like department heads?
I gotta take up golf!
I left there because there was not a future there for DPM staff. The clock is ticking. It used to be a great place to work. SLB and current DPM management have ruined what used to be an efficient, productive and enjoyable place to work. Now the left hand doesn't know what the other hand is doing (there isn't a right hand). Nothing about that place is right anymore. Tis a shame. Good people still there. But not for long.
I don't think any of them golfed either
The people that have left or are leaving are not part of the good old boy club.
Sweco employees used to take pride in their work. They can't now. It is not listed in their processes or work instructions.
Quality department has been reduced to almost nothing. Get it out the door and worry about quality problems only when the customer complains. A once great company reduced to this. Sad.
