Thread regarding Denbury Resources Inc. layoffs

Denbury is better than most

Complain all you want but this place is better than anywhere my friends are today. They care. You can second guess all you want but at the end of the day I see them doing the best they can with what they have. Phil answers my questions at the coffees I have with him (4 last year), his emails and my insurance not going up in 3 years not to mention a bonus and people who are trying to hold it together the best they can. I expect people to be laid off and I hope it's not me, if it is, I'll find another job but I won't blame them for doing what they had to do for the good of those who are left behind. Those who complain, point fingers, whine or take no responsibility for their actions and consequences should be on the list if there is one. Appreciate what you have while you have it, work hard and see Denbury for the great place it is. I'll miss it if I go and hope I valued every day I got to be here.

"Denbury is better than most". What rock have you been hiding under? Sounds like this is a post from management. If you open your eyes, you will clearly see all the other oil companies are giving out better severance packages, and handling the process of laying off their staff more professionally and in a more dignified manor. I have seen how my friends in the oil industry were treated when they were let go, vs. how Denbury has treated the situation, and its pathetic. Denbury and its management have no shame!

Sounds like a bunch of suck ass employees. And to the guy that said "Where are there too many Managers?" Im glad you arent my manager.. You sound like a f'n asshole!!

I agree 100%, this is a great place to work and I appreciate Phil taking the time to answer all of the questions and the coffee's with Phil and the lunch with leaders. We got a great bonus given the current market. If I don't make the cut I will be disappointed but will figure out my next plan.

I am not the original poster but what do you mean Managers haven't been cut? There were Managers cut in June....I am 1 of 9 reporting to my current Manager who also has work (not just delegating) so I don't think that's unreasonable. Where are there too many Managers?

are you in hr? How many managers have been cut compared to the people reporting to them? I agree that Denbury is going through rough times. However, management should be adjusted to reflect the employees reporting to them.
