I was part of a group of thousands laid off January 2016. The entire Yammer group got the axe 1900+. My old position was filled by an #H1B

Also attrition - there is a ton of positions that never get filled - they just go away, that's very silent
Microsoft hides layoffs by using "re-orgs" and staff reductions after performance review cycles....this way they can avoid WARN notices.
Not true. Talked to someone I know there. There were no layoffs and they've never had that many people.

This is correct, that group was annihilated and was the first large job cut of 2016 in Microsoft...
