The future of this industry belongs to Amazon. Follett is setting itself up for sale. Don't fool yourself into believing otherwise unless you want to try for a cashout or a job with the true innovator. You probably have 2-3 years tops before the lights go out for good in Westchester.

Who killed the original mobile POS that was successful in beta. Who gave us the trash mobile we have now.
Leadership killed the loyalty project. Then the whole marketing team left.
Loyalty program went to the wayside when Follett RIF'd all of the older loyal associates.
Good article in WSJ about why Amazon is doing this - to collect more information about the customer. Look at the market capitalization of Google if you don't think this information is worth $$$ (most valuable company in the world). Does Follett even know who the customer is, what they are buying etc? We collect nothing on customers and their buying habits and worse yet, there is no infrastructure in place to do so. What happened to the idea of Follett loyalty programs etc?
