I think it's quite inhumane how employees can be treated like their nothing and deserve nothing but when it comes to time for a layoffs, those same people that look down on you can't look up at you or speak to us , as if we are the disloyal, ungrateful and deceitful ones ! I am also a GE oil and gas employee. It was formally a Dresser plant. I am thankful for my job but. I too have to agree with some of the posters. They in my opinion don't care about their shop employees. Can anyone tell me the CEOs phone number and email address. They have to find out what is going on at the Bradford Pa facility. They keep hiring Supervisors that are not familiar with the product we build. I keep trying to get this information but no one wants me to get it. Thanks.
There are quite a few people in this place that are self-serving, arrogant, egotistical, greedy with an inflated sense of entitlement
They tend to be narcissistic. All they care about is getting attention, self centered with self-serving attitude and a lack of empathy or consideration for others just to promote themselves. They want all the admiration from higher ups. Everything is a success with failures passed on to somebody else. No team concept unless it serves their purpose to claim all accomplishments. We know who they are and they should be held accountable for all their mistakes. This coming layoff they should be on it. Would make for a wonderful workplace environment. Great for morale. People would know that leadership is not oblivious to these frauds.
Finally age matters, I am 54 yrs old and has been at GE 12 years. I am sure that I will not survive the next cuts. I have done everything here except polish management shoes. So I know that change is coming and I have asked to transferred to another department but we all know you have to be in good with that department manager. Well, nice working at GE but soon. I will be stress free because this you never know predicament is exhausting.
I am so sorry that you have to experience such treatment but wait till one of those GE Money Manager's have to give you a reference. They will do their best to avoid this and not provide Nothing loyal about your services. In fact, the company will charge the prospective employer $25 for your your employment info. Remember, nothing at GE is FREE! On another note, you have NO ideal why GE hire you? Yes you do! They use a lean 10:1 ratio for the purpose of your employment. They earn 10 bucks to every taxed dollar you earn. HMMM?
It's great to make tons of profit. But when you're greedy that's terrible for morale. Share profits with the people who actually do the back breaking work. The people that sacrifice their lives, family. The ones who take pride to put out their best for the company.
You do it realize they care about just one thing, money money money
