Thread regarding IBM layoffs

Moved from a hardware to a software facility

Not sure what happened to all people who used to work around here - Most of the campus is dark, many buildings leased out to other companies, wtf... Many of the buildings are showing their age, nobody invests anything (it kind of tells you what kind of thinking our executives are engaging in)... Hate to bring this up but the cafeteria is dated, the food is unhealthy and horrendousy - everything around me seems like it is about to die - with all layoffs going on it truly reflects IBM of 2016

Comment from the Alliance: IBM has definitely crossed the tipping point recently.

IBM has definitely crossed the tipping point recently.

fair enough...

Morale was low before, but since the 3Q announcements and allegations that (not surprisingly) the company has been up to some #ShadyAccounting (meaning things are even worse than Wall St knows about), the malaise internally has been thick as molasses.

Shady Accounting? That's how things start to unravel, there is no going back from here...

On conference calls nobody seems to care and many don't show up. Ginny has inferred that if you aren't on #Watson, you ain't nothing. The CFO has come right out and said they are engineering a decline in some product areas (everything except Watson?). Or is that like saying after the ship sinks "Yeah we meant to do that..."

Watson is a money pit and will take us nowhere, but yeah, keep trying, you've demonstrated that you cannot execute anything anyway...

The 4Q deal pipe worldwide is virtually empty. Product teams aren't being given money to fix even serious bugs. The pool for raises and bonuses is now empty going forward, so nobody can expect those. Everyone is being asked to "do less with more" aka do the work of those who are gone.

We get it but... We'll do "less with less", that's how math works Ginny... Oh, yeah...

I'm sure there are a great many who have their new jobs with other companies lined up for Jan 1 and will say sayonara on Dec 15 when they quality for the #401k match. That will leave the company short, and make things even worse."

That's right let's save some money on the 401k side and let's f--- everyone who is let go before the end of the year as we'll keep their match. While we are at it, let's increase stock grants for executives, and how about we quadruple bonuses as the execs are doing a helluva job on f---ing everyone up while taking astonishingly good care of themselves.
