Honestly, the writing has been on the wall for a while now. Avid first stopped listening to it's customers in spite of all these "we're listening" campaigns, Avid Consumer Association and whatever. It breaks my heart because I have spent much of my career here to say that Adobe, Autodesk and Apple have steamrolled over us when it comes to our old core products. We didn't listen what the customers wanted, and then we didn't listen when they suggested Avid should divest some of the products to Blackmagic and what not. Guess what, it's too late now. There is some amazing talent here and I hope it doesn't go to waste.

Oh for the love of all things holy... Bring back Dave Lebolt already!
This is why the beta tester socials are all really just gripefests.
Louis Hernandez Jr... if you are reading this, please step down. You are a failure. Blum Capital Partners, L.P. will gobble up the company, and sell off it's parts to companies like Google for huge profits. I can only hope they have the vision where Louie did not.
Special thanks go to: Louis, John, Jeff, Dana, Rashid my-man and Ilan - great job guys, great job indeed
Execs keep acquiring 3rd party companies, I guess they need cash to bankroll their egos, very little value there - on the contrary, they are killing core Avid business and people are leaving on their own or thru cuts - so, we lose jobs so they can save money to finance their acquisitions - give me a break. Leadership? What a bunch of jokers, seriously.
Not sure if I can agree with this but you are pretty much on target here - we forgot about the 'customer', at that point we stop being who we are:
Adobe, Autodesk and Apple have steamrolled over us when it comes to our old core products
Now, chasing financial results and doing accounting black magic can help you only so much... #outsourcing does not help and it has damaged so many things on the quality side it's not even funny... Stay stong if you can otherwise get your CV ready and network. Pray if you are religious... F--- this...
