Thread regarding Whole Foods Market Inc. layoffs

Customer view, Dallas stores worsening

Slice your own bread? Nut machines always jammed with no one who knows how to fix them. Always out of stock on several things. Definitely feeling the losses of good employees as a customer, especially at Park Lane Dallas. It has become so dumpy. And in Addison, a Now Hiring sign in the window imploring you to make it your mission to work for WF, had to take a photo it was so laden with bs corp-speak. It's really unpleasant to shop at WF now, the love is gone.

People put their hands all over equipment. I don't want to use a communal bread slicer. Just like have you ever seen a little brat put his fingers all over a bulk honey tap, lick them, then put his fingers back there again? I have. Same with the nut butter machines. DISGUSTING. Changing the world was never so gross.

My stl was so excited about the new bread-slicer that customers use themselves. It is cheaper over the long run than having one of our nice older bakery ladies slice it behind the counter. These women have been working for years here, they know everyone and they see these people's kids grow up over the years. I KNOW it won't be long after that slicer is put in place those bakery ladies will be not be needed.

What will happen? The same customers who have come in for years will be asking where their fave TMs are. They'll learn that the ladies are now gone and they will now have to slice that bread themselves that probably will not have gone down in price, because after all these months nothing has gone down in price. So they'll keep coming back to shop because why?

Still shop at my old store a few times a week, they still carry some items I can't find anywhere else. My old fellow members look miserable, they're trying to smile but things are so bad. Even my old STL looks like he's aged twenty years. They lost over 30 people on one team alone (it was 70 down to 40) and hired one who is a transfer so does it count?

I don't think team members are going to be to concerned about stellar customer service when their employer is actively abusing/trying to get rid of them. This has gone on for years, though. I've been there for a decade and am finally getting away from this cancer. Good luck to anyone who has the misfortune to work there. Shop at locally owned businesses, that is the biggest lesson that I have learned from this nightmare. Inform your friends and family. Don't support this abusive, evil, dishonest corporation. #wholefoodsmarket #TeamWFM

It's not only the texas stores I can promise you that. I took a road trip this winter ('cuz hey! laid-off), and the stores I went to in Socal and on the coast to San Fran are so depressing to me now, when they used to sparkle and I'd get excited to visit. I don't recognize hardly anyone, and the ones I do are ragged and desperately want out of the company completely. A lot of buyers I knew who were laid off now work at Kroger! And they say they like it so far.

I can't imagine anyone would want to work at this nightmare. We lost and are continuing to lose our best workers, and they are being replaced with Kroger level part timers. I would advise anyone thinking of applying to run as far away as you can get. It's a house of cards. #wholefoodsmarket #teamWFM

-kzs, you certainly have it: we should all be calling it an "Achedule" from now on. lol

Jacked up schedule doesn't even begin to cover it. Part time work spread over five days with less than 30 hours total per week, being thrown all over the schedule, probably won't entice new potential team members if they're honest about it in interviews. However, we all know this will be a nasty surprise to a new hire.
