@dWtkd - It was blocked way back during 2016 ACT, as too many 'inconvenient truths' were being exposed here for the whole employee base to see. That's when Intel's true face was fully revealed.

Interesting (and telling) that this entire domain is blocked from inside Intel...

@8fju - yep, diversity push is a great way to get rid of long term employees at the higher end of the pay scale. If I were an engineer at Intel right now without a phd or at least an ms I'd be watching my back. That's another distribution they haven't hired out of for a long time.

@8rbw - That's exactly right. We know a couple Intel VP's....they say it's the easiest job they have ever had within Intel. And yes, it is truly amazing to see how some of them turned their fabs into šhít only to get promoted to VP!?! @8hoc - The main reason why the older rank and file employees get fired is because of their high salary. Get rid of some of those worthless very high paid VP's and Intel will be much better off!!

@8hoc, you might think that; but Burger King, his bromo Josh, and the rest of the boys who have spent the last 10 years turning the place to šhít have only gotten older, whiter, and richer while they play the NCGs, girls, queers, and H1Bs off each other.

@FCS6YkD-5gme - I took a VSP 4 years ago, which allowed me to retire vis a vis rule of 75, along with a great package including nearly a year's pay of severance as well as my full share EB (even though I left in December of that year). I am sure that the packages have gone downhill since then but certainly one thing that hasn't changed I'm sure is Intel's desire to eliminate anyone with any grey showing through (because they obviously make too much), and replacing them with dumb ass, arrogant HI-B Indians, and equally arrogant (and, arguably of even less value) RCGs.

Intel used to be a fantastic place for a career,... huge impact and great recognition (and reward) for good, impactful results. But by the time I had left it had become a political cesspool, which I would venture has only gotten worse since then.

My earlier point was simply to not rely on HR or anything they say because they are not there for the benefit of the employees, they are there as the eyes and ears of Intel legal. They are there looking for anyone or anything that potentially rocks the imagery that they intend to project about their wonderful shining star on the hill.

Here's another good article on the way Adobe handles pay raises:

https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/20140206114808-15893932-how-adobe-got-rid-of-traditional-performance-reviews

I especially like this statement: "Equally important, many weak managers have learned how to talk with their direct reports about what is expected of them, how they are performing, and what they can do to become more effective."

Intel has way too many weak managers. This system that Adobe uses would really help these managers learn to get the best out of their direct reports. Too many Intel managers do not have 1:1 with their direct reports.....they don't even know their employees!!!

@2bjo - Maybe they do it how Adobe does it....see these two links for more info. These articles were written last year, but once Adobe implemented this new system, their stock went from $30 to $80 and they have much happier employees.

I was there during the '90s and early 2000s and as a Grade 11 had TCOMP in excess of $350K on average. A couple of years as high as $400k.

Don't trust what Intel tells you about how your pay stacks up against others, do the research yourself.

Then what are their raised based on if no focal process, @2low? They have to do something. It's just not called focal.

Glad I don't have to go through the focal crap every year. My new company has no focal. Did you know Micron Tech does not have focal either?

I was grade 8 making $120K and they always told me on was on top of my pay. I later found out that I was on the low end of the scale. Don't trust the managers. Have the data available before you go in to your focal.

My Ahole manager kept telling me for years that my pay was way above market avg. When I found out about the Pay Modeling tool, I see that my pay is near the mid range.

LOL Well here's the thing, @1wsn. I can find just about anything with a search. I've actually amazed people. So to your point, I could NOT find that data doing multiple different Circuit searches so finally gave up. Then you lead me to the page (which I had found doing my own search earlier) and my eyes still don't go to that section. lol

So..... can't argue with you there. lol

Interesting.... I was looking at the tool part, not up there. I see it now. Thank you. :)

I looked at that earlier. It's not telling me the range after playing with it for a few min.

Your manager has access to it in the focal tools (used to be that way - I haven't checked this year) and can show you the bottom all the way up to 1 level above your current grade. You should get it from your manager because it varies by function and site.

Ask Ivy or your HR rep.

Either Ask Ivy your question, or your org's HR person. If it can be given out you'll get it that way.
