Thread regarding Southwestern Energy Co. layoffs

Attitude is everything.

Keep your head up. You did nothing wrong in not being cut loose. There are always key ppl left to keep the company going. The downturn will eventually end. If SWN goes into bankruptcy (like my company) the daily operations go on until reorg or liquidation.

Stay in your office and find something to do. Attitude is everything.

Good luck!

Thanks for the words of encouragement. SWN lost a lot of good people, and not just non-productive people!

SWN got rid of employees that were not productive. SWN is great without all the wasted space they had.

Can you read? The person stated they weren't with SWN, so obviously they weren't one those who were let go. They were simply offering words of encouragement and you had to come along and take a dump on your keyboard.

And FYI- the rotationals and new hires got hammered harder than any other experience bracket with the exception of those who were already at retirement age.

Obviously you're one of the ones who wasn't laid-off. Please spare us with the righteous pep talk. Yes there are some good people left at SWN. But MANY of them have very limited experience (young new hires, rotationals) and were selected because they are on the low end of the pay scale. In such a difficult situation that SWN is currently in, it would be difficult for even the experienced to fix, evaluate and rebuild the company to be a positive and prosperous business again. SWN is now banking on having a handful of experienced folks instruct a small army or recruits to make them whole again. This will fail undoubtedly. Perhaps that the actual goal anyway?
