Green Badge after July ISP

Does anyone know if ISP folks are getting back at Intel as green badge o contingent workers? Intel doesn't seem very transparent about the ISP and green badge. I have heard folks coming back as GB but every time I call HR, I am told ISP folks cant come back even if they are hired by other companies to work as Intel contractors. Wondering if anyone has any details?

This happens when you guys saw the fxxxin management corruptions and kept quiet.

Indians and Chinese Corrupt low level managers still selling jobs to traffickers on daily bases and everyone of you fxxxxers knew about it and kept quiet. These corrupt managers were telling Kelly who they want and who to hire even if the GB were not engineers and were house wives and F...n Kelly did it without interviewing these s---ers. every damn Indian Managers that I knew brought his wife via the corrupt system most of them with no engineering degree came in with grade of-6 or 7. Now that your a-- is OFF the company you are crying "uh that is unconstitutional". Well that was Unconstitutional to bring cheap labor via human trafficker by these f...in low life corporate criminals but YOU knew it and YOU KEPT QUIET, Now eat it-- or KEEP CALLING LABOR DEPARTMENT AND F.. the hell out of their sh--ty jobs and have them to investigate. Provide name of all these Corporate Criminals to the local authority and follow the case.. otherwise you need to train your kids to work at McDonald for life... $13 / hour by 2020 as McDonald promised.

The Guy bought an Engineering Degree for $100 in India, human traffickers and corrupt managers brought him here via these fxxxng out of leash corporate system and he is getting high level Salary here in Silicon Valley... did you fxxxing get it?

It may have changed and I'm not sure about the issue of needing to have the company ask Intel for permission, but when I got the ISP that was the first question I asked HR and their answer at the time (Last July) was that yes we could come back as green badge employees. Blue badge no, but yes to green badge. I moved on and didn't do it but certainly looked into it. This was also at the Folsom site.

This is what I got in an email from Intel HR when I enquired in December after Kelly Services asked if I'd contacted Intel at a certain phone number to see if I was eligible "Unfortunately, initially with the PMB, employees were told that they could return as green badge employees, however, that was changed later and you would be ineligible to return period – blue badge or green badge."

@3rwb Thanks for the information. Most suppliers like Kelly and few others in the Bay are asking for a approval from Intel HR to go back as GB/CW. Intel HR clearly said third parties can hire ISP folks but they cant place them at Intel.

I created a email ID if you could forward the email from Intel HR it will be helpful (needajob_123@yahoo.com). Folsom has very few employers other than Intel and its difficult to find a job in specific fields.

3wrl, I have a copy of the Intel guidline: Former Employees returning as CW that HR sent me. Unfortunately this site does not allow me to cut and paste to get it to you. If you like create an email and provide it to me and I can send it to you.

3wrl,I work for a supplier of Intel. Intel does not pay me nor do I need to be at Intel site but all I do is Intel work. Beofre I was hired my new employer wanted to make sure I could start working with Intel right away so I contacted Intel HR and asked them if I could start working for their supplier right away and the HR responded with their rule as I posted earlier. I then forwarded the rules that I copied to my hiring manager and they did not ask any more question. It clearly states you can work for Intel supplier 2 days after your departure. I waiting period used to be one year before but right before the last round of ISP they changed the rule to days after departure. If any HR tells you otherwise you can file a law suit as they dont know what the hell they are doing. I was at Folsom site. Let me know if I can be of further help. Keep me posted.

@3ipz, if you are a CW at Intel, how is your office not in Intel building? Which Intel site were you located at?

All the CW suppliers are asking to get a yes from Intel before they can hire ISP employee even if the ISP employee is on their payroll and not Intel's. This is like Intel controlling all the ISP folks life by saying no one can employe them if they are to work as their employee, which I would think is illegal at least in US.

I lucked out. My new company has a design center near Intel but headquarter is in Santa Clara. I get to stay right next to my home. My commute is 15 min from home which is half of what it used to be. I got my own office with a door and a window to outside. Pay's better, better benefits and much nicer environment. Happy as I can be.

I recommend showing them the HR comment I posted earlier. I did the same an got the job.

Intel HR comment about a third party hiring as a CW is that the third party can hire an ISP employee but they cant place them at Intel as CW. It is weird they are responding to different people with different answers. The only reason for trying to get in at Intel as CW is to stay in the area where there arent many employers and family to feed and bills to pay.

See my response below for 2 days after leaving Intel. I have that in writting from HR and I started working for Intel contractor the same day I got the ISP. SHow them below which is from HR.

While an employee may certain apply and be placed by an outside supplier at their sole discretion, it is strictly against Intel guidelines for us to instruct any outside company on who to hire or where to place them with us for legal reasons. Here are a few of the guidelines around this

Do not:

· Make the final decision regarding hiring), nor in any way influence the supplier on compensation, evaluation, discipline, rewards or termination of CW's.

· Become involved in any discussion with CWs or Suppliers regarding a CW's movement from one supplier to another supplier.

Also FYI – here is the excerpt of the guideline that covers the PMB and other similar situations for the employee to apply to a supplier and come back as they see fit however.

Former Employees Returning as Contingent Workers

Restrictions on when former employees may return back as contingent workers are in place because the risk of co-employment/de facto employment is highest where employees, who have recently left Intel, return to the same or similar work environment, and perform services under close direction of Intel managers. Restrictions on former employees returning to Intel are intended to lessen the likelihood that they will immediately return to the same situation in a different status. It also demonstrates that the separation of employment was genuine.

Contingent Worker Waiting Periods for Corporate People Movement Actions

In countries, where it has been deemed legally feasible, Intel's contingent worker (CW) waiting period is changed for employees who are part of an involuntary Corporate People Movement action.

The below policy applies only to employees who have formally entered an Involuntary Intel Corporate People Movement program:

· U.S. employees:

An employee may begin work with an Intel supplier if his/her start date is at least two business days after their separation date from Intel.

To verify eligibility of a former Intel employee for a CW assignment:

Contact: Global Contingent Workforce, Type in subject line of email: BB to CW conversions and specific region: i.e., Europe, Asia or US.

For any further information on this, please contact the folks at “My CW” page.

Thanks

Sounds like that's how they check names against 'the list' @1yah

Not planning on getting rehired but to work as a contractor or contingent worker. Most third parties are asking to first get a yes from Intel before they can hire ISP folks as their employees to work as green badge employee at Intel.

If you are working for a Intel supplier you can start working with Intel 2 days after your departure. No need ask for approval and no badge needed.

I'm thinking it's easier to squeak past if you're coming in as a GB (who would be checking GBs names against a list?). Doubt you could squeak past if you're trying to get rehired. They'd have that flagged in their system I'd think.

No, they aren't eligible for rehire (or to return as GBs from what I heard). Per an article in the local newspaper (Oregonian) on the very subject:

The cuts fell disproportionately on older workers too, and a newly applied rule bars laid-off workers from ever being rehired.
