Does anyone know exactly what this means for North America and assessments? It is from the Washington Post: "Integrate our North America based assessment operations, and reduce costs primarily to increase our competitiveness and focus more on adaptive, personalized, online assessment in an era of “fewer, smarter” tests." I heard they closed six scoring centers, but how will this effect the rest of them?

Pearson recently closed at least half of its scoring centers. I was one that just lost a job. Just got that , "You are no longer needed" call after 15+ years. Never heard another word from anyone. So much for Brave, Imaginative and Decent.
The Clinical Assessment group is one of the few growth areas and I've heard it will be unaffected
I wanted to add that the remodel to the San Antonio scoring center had to do with the building being sold and Pearson now being in less space in the building than before.
How secure is the job in clinical assessment IT group? he got offer for clinical assessment group. My brother is in international visa and if there is any layoff in future he might have to travel back to our country.
I'm a part-time scorer in SA and they have a really nice group of people working at that Pearson. I think he should accept the job and get the experience at least. If something happens, it will look good on his resume.
I would say to take the job, but keep your options open. They are setting up the scoring center that has been remodeled. They probably do need another IT.
I don't know why they are hiring if there is a serious restructuring going within company. My brother got an offer for their san antonio office. He is an IT techie. Please anyone can advise?
