Great point. And this is exactly, as you pointed out, what Intel, with its x86 uArch and Microsoft PC OS and PC and then Server applications did to the mini, mainframe and proprietary workstation computers of DEC, WANG, Sun, Apollo, Data General and countless others.

Just goes to show, what goes around eventually comes around!

Th Indians infiltrating Intel and their subs are imposing their third world cast system on the staff. Indians with no experience promoted into management and then damaging the brand and forcing out the older, white employees since they don't fit in with their vision of low paid, indentured servants that they hold the visas for. They then outsource the work to other third world countries.

Intel has essentially 1 product. So really all past attempts have not only been allowed to fail they've been pushed to fail (abandoned/cut, under-promoted, ignored, etc). Getting a 2nd product might be a baby-step re-boot at this point. But to create innovation many more things are needed. Firing failures is typical Intel style and one of the reasons that there are fewer people who can produce innovative work now than in the past. There are 4 types of outcomes: good planning and execution with good outcomes / good planning and execution with poor outcomes / poor planning and execution with good outcomes / poor planning and execution with poor outcomes. Judging solely on the outcome = firing good people along with bad.

Intel inside = DEC inside = Sun inside. All were innovative decades ago: Intel 1-2 decades ago, Sun 2 decades ago, DEC 3 decades ago. Truly open and low cost CPUs are all on ARM for phones and tablets now, servers to follow. It's the same play Intel made with PCs first then servers in the 80s and 90s. Welcome to disruption, this time on the other side.

Break it up and sell it. It's all about ARM now.

Sell the company to someone who has the vision and patience to innovate. Developing a 2nd product would be a start. The next round of layoffs should be at the top.

There's a lot wrong with the people I live around. Racist rhetoric, spitting around people when they walk and slander.

Intel needs even more diversity hiring. Women, under represented races, disabled need to represent 80% of employee headcount. Intel will make a lot less money and winning products but will win the PR game.

Awesome job. Look at all the profit from mobile and all the phone and tablet designs! Intel is number one in small form factor devices and not a zombie company resting on it's laurels in datacenter at all. There are so many products in addition to CPUs that contribute to the earnings. The company is outperforming it's peers. Everything is awesome! ... Oh wait. None of that is true.

You are doing awesome. Stay the course and keep firing. HR is doing a great job highlighting the zombies. Stock is back to mid thirty. Shareholders love it!
