Thread regarding Schlumberger Ltd. layoffs

Severance package

Gents who experienced lay off. please help me to understand a point. I have been with SLB 10 years. Now I expect to be laid off from IM status on which I spent a year only. as I know IM has a specific way.. SLB pays a month salary for each year of service as IM. well, I expect to have that. but I am still concerned if SLB shall consider paying something extra taking in account all years I serviced as HCM, HCR and EM ?

I was laid off from slb as well so a sincere advice.

  1. Check the contracts you have signed on different status during yr career for severance applicable

  2. You have to contact the region HR to claim the CTI

If laid off in US they might give only 15 days for a year of service with a cap of 13 years

So you need to contact the region you worked for the balance CTI

I have managed to get all the severance due for my 20yr of service. Good luck

My understanding, as a laid off IM, you should get the (untaxed) salary insurance that IMs are covered by (probably the one month per year that you mention), plus a taxed 'ex-gratia' payment based on your total years/status/where the years were served. Don't know how this is calculated, argue if you don't like it.

As an IM you should also get repatriation costs (flight home for you and named dependents and shipping of your stuff). There may be a payment in lieu of a notice period too. For one year IM you should also get 1 month insurance coverage. Get your teeth fixed in this month.
