Engineer in TTS here. Even after all the lip service from upper mgmt about how promotions are going to be based on actual contributions and skill level, I'm still getting the exact same runaround as before. I've been running circles around the other jokes for engineers in my area for a while now, who are one or even two PGs above me and do little to nothing of value, and I'm still being told the same BS about getting promoted. Well I'm fu@#ing done. As of this morning I've updated my linkedin profile and I've started applying for jobs elsewhere. Already got one call back! So long Target and good luck with building that "engineering culture!"

Why is it that the people who don't get promoted assume it's because they aren't politically savvy? Maybe they're just not as good at their jobs as they think they are.
Um, promotions are happening. Am I in the twilight zone?
Sure, send the whining, self serving lot to either. "Oh I should be promoted."

Outsource the whole thing! #stopthefingwhining #loosetheintravertedawkwardentitledchildrennowplease
your first mistake was assuming that hard work would be identified and rewarded. second mistake was comparing contributions to higher pg's. everyone knows the higher the engineer pg the less the actual work. if u want to see anyone with *consultant in their title freak out just ask them to do some real technical work, it's hilarious.
Titles changed, people moved around internally and sure a few were laid off but ultimately nothing changed in the management layers to make those promises come true. Everyone who works at or has worked at TGT knows that promotions are based on back rubs and sauna encounters. Believing one can be promoted based on hard work and effort is laughable at best. I am sure raises are already decided for next April and those who blow a lot of smoke and play the mouth organ will get the most bang for their Sweet Basil's.
