Really it gets down to 2 things: he hasn't done anything with QCT. We are a one trick pony with snapdragon SoC with its tarnished reputation due to the 810, which was released under MR's "leadership", mind you. So you can thank him for that. Second mistake is focusing so much time/energy trying to penetrate low-mid tier markets when the Chinese are already f*cking us and we can't really beat the Chinese to the bottom of the barrel. China doesn't have to worry about silly things like employee benefits, insurance, patents, copyrights, licensing, etc. We as industry leaders need to be paving the path to new tech, not trying to gobble up the scraps.

SM is afraid Murthy R will replace him, giving SM's negative performance these days

MRs vision was that of himself f@%$ing his Directors doggy style. The sound effects were of those idiots who laughed at one of their own getting verbally raped in public. MR is a true disgrace to mankind.

MR found a wave to be ridden. Jobs made the wave and he owned it

To the poster comparing MR to Steve Jobs: Jobs might have been an a$$hole. But he was a an a$$hole with a vision that drove his company and the entire tech industry. Can you say the same thing about MR? What was his vision. I never heard it.

I'm sure he's pursuing other interests.

Well, there is a clear correlation between his tenure and dismal performance of his group (and subsequently QC as a company) - add to that high attrition of top talent that reported to him you have a fairly combustable outcome scenario. I am surprised that it took them this long to can him, but he did not inspire (attrition), provide vision (back to the 64 bit issue) or set a strong strategy (loss of the leading position on multiple fronts). Is this write-up 'smart' enough for you?

He ridiculed an engineer at an all hands meeting. For someone that acts superior, that is crass, low class, and undignified. Low emotional intelligence.

I see all these comments about rejoicing murthy departure from Q. all comments seem to be about his way of communicating with subordinates.... Is that all? If so, Q employees really need to get more strong mentally.. Most folks that directly interact with MR are at a level (mostly dir+) that should be strong to handle this without complaining and crying on their pillows. Besides these folks are paid enough to be able to handle executive level communication. Has anyone heard about Steve Jobs communication style with his employees? Seriously! Q upper management needs to be replaced... Bunch of whimps! Can't push back on unreasonable expectation nor can they handle the heat from their management, bows down cowering with 'yes sir' attitude. . But can readily accept the high compensation tied to the title (dir+) that requires them to have some balls to speak up when needed.

SM must be really pissed at MR. Just a one line passing mention in long reorg email?

because he is a failure? At all upper levels, including him, everything is a blur. They have to believe the lies coming from underneath, all disguised into "my HW" or "my SW" is just fine, how others are using it is the problem. Actually there is an overall failure of architecture and product management. At some point the compass was lost...

I heard Murthy wants to go back to wearing REI clothing, so he can once again look like a deranged camper. Also, he wants to spend more time eating.
