They also steal from their employees as soon as someone is let go. They cannot go back to their desk once they are let go, but everyone else who is still there is allowed to take your personal belongings and gifts. They roll on your desk like its a free for all before you even make it to your car. Then HR plays dumb which Phil is really really really good at.

If gainful employment were a standard for public schools many of them would not meet it, but it is designed specifically for the for profit sector that pays millions to lawyers and lobby factions

No, that person is likely still making 100k. When EDMC got rid of incentives, they still had pay a salary that was comparable to what that person was making. Stupid, I know.

You still get prizes? And is your salary a straight salary or is it because you get bonuses for enrolling students?

I have been with AI for over 8 years. I got to go to Mexico all expenses paid. And presidents dinners. They paid us big money to drag in as many students as you can. The more you brought in, the bigger your raise. Over 100,000 grand a year and still making that. Thanks to corrupt politics we are still here and going nowhere.

I am new to this, but are the recruiters still receiving bonuses and "prizes" for enrolling students or was this a practice in the past?

EDMC workers are spineless parasites that have no issue with selling their fellow man downriver in order to make that enrollment quota. No matter if they win a court case. Time will side in the students favor because they have the truth on their side. Oh, and there are hell of a lot more of them that will be storming the castle gates at some point. Let EDMC have this small false sense of security and believe that they will never be forced to be held accountable for their role in destroying higher ed in this country.

Layoffs? School closings will be next. EDMC is guilty of fraud anywhere you look. There will be other lawsuits especially since the whistleblowers made millions. It is a different world for edmc than even a year ago. I feel for the students who are still signing up. They need to do some research!

EDMC @$$hats get to settle an $11BILLION lawsuit for only .8909%! Less than 1% of the asking price! I currently owe just above $125k -if the DOE-DOJ or whoever gave a shit, they would allow students to settle for the same. This would make my payout somewhere around $1112.50 which would still be a ripoff!!!

This stupid company has been pushing back on gainful employment for YEARS now. What, this new CEO thinks he can wave a wand and make it all better? Oh, it's all that higher ed experience and industry and government knowledge that he has. When is the next round of layoffs going to happen?

I think it's telling that the reason that it wasn't more than 95 million (and the DOJ has acknowledged this in multiple press releases) was that EDMC could afford this and not a higher penalty. If it had been a higher number (as is actually warranted) and EDMC didn't have the money, the government would likely have never seen a penny.

Meaning, for a school of 100,000 students, EDMC has very little money in its pockets and frankly doesn't seem like it will see 2017.

As an adjunct, I need the money for winter 16 as I solidify my exit strategy and plans for the future but don't at all expect winter 17.

201500, if you have children and you work for this company, there is something seriously wrong with you. I would never want to be such a terrible scumbag of an influence. Maybe get a job where you don't ruin lives? Teach your kids to stand up for justice and be a leader rather than a complacent follower.

@201500– The McDonalds of art schools at a Harvard price is not a quality education. You are brainwashed and probably don't have a "quality education" yourself.

People are blowing off this 95.5 million dollar settlement as a win for EDMC. I think that just shows how horrible the company has become. We ask it often but who would ever go to an EDMC school or teach for one at this point? All their money and effort is going to lawyers and now the CEO wants to push back on Gainful Employment. We know now that their programs don't match up to GE requirements. So does the government. He's not worried about improving the quality of the education offered. This company and their schools can't last.
