Thread regarding Halliburton Co. layoffs

Next weeks reduction in force at DMC

Hello again my DMC friends. After a lot of investigating, it would seem we have a close estimate on the number of people who will be laid off next week unless something big happens. The numbers come it between 270 and 300 folks. This time will include a significant number of people from upstairs. It’s going to be a hard and sad week no matter how this turns out. Let’s keep a little dignity if at all possible and keep our heads up. Best of luck to us all and keep everyone in our prayers.

The layoff list is generated by the PGL. They are ask to rate employees from best to worst. The list generated last time will continue to be used this time. If the PGL is told to reduce, by say, 10%, he will count from bottom of list up to get the required number to meet that percentage. I still contend the number will be between 270 to 300. The reason being they originally intended to have a reduction in force this month and again in December or January. When the quantity of work was again reduced, they decided to do it all this time. That makes sense in a sad kind of way. You all are the best folks I have ever worked with. Finest kind. I continue to pray for us all.

They could get rid of over half the shop, but it's halliburton we all think it will be big, so it will be small. No way it will be 300. I'd say between 150 to 180

Some really good, hard workers were let go already, I hope its just lazy pets this round. I do feel bad for the people that will be part of the next "reduction" that have gone out of their way to stay busy and safe. Halliburton won't be on my list of any job I ever want back. It was too hard watching good people go while butt kissing slackers stayed. I can understand the layoff being necessary, but I can't understand the way people were chosen.

Rumor has it that the number was going to be a little smaller, but due to the build schedule changing for the worst the number went up, which is evident by the 270-300. Thats 25 percent. We will lose a lot of good people Thursday.I know that there isnt any work on the floor I could only imagine what the upstairs people have been doing lately.
