Life is grand without Intel! Unemployment is there if you don't need a job (not everyone is still saving for retirement). But employment without Intel is EASY. It may be a little difficult to find a job paying more that you're currently making (not that difficult), but guaranteed they'll be no more monotonous life-suck of repetitive work, cancelled programs, failing company, etc.

Intel's rules for success: 1) run the company with maximum control and minimum innovation 2) fire people when we have a couple bad qtrs - make up the rules for it as you go 3) buy dead or dying companies - for their skills of course! 4) lose $800M less in your "we're catching up business" and try for positive margins there 5) focus on the core in serverland (nobody could ever catch up with us there, right?... right?)

I was talking to two of their engineers in China from the Via Tech acquisition and was thinking if they knew Soon they will be without a job just like all the other Intel acquisitions. Everything Intel touches falls apart.
