Stock hitting $30, expect huge layoff early next yesr. Dothill will also be targeted.

I had not heard of a "grandfathered-in" plan only available to existing Seagate employees. I've worked for the company for 3 years and I had the choice of either the HDHP 1 or HDHP 2 which are Cigna plans. Did you not get those choices as well? They're both high deductible and not as cheap as a previous plan I had when I first started.

All thanks to their wonderful healthcare system. Any new company Seagate buys will then be merged internally then given a crappy HDHP where you're paying more out of pocket for everything. Don't worry though; the old Seagate employees are still on the grandfathered plan so they don't have to suffer through this.

What I'm also curious about is how this site missed Seagate destroying Wuala (LaCie's cloud backup solution similar to Evault). The other fact is that they've hired big CEOs with generous packages and then after 1 year they're leaving already... if they're leaving then their outlook on the long term for the company can't be good. I do feel sorry for Xyratex and Dothill employees; even if the job was great before; expect to have 2 or 3 times the amount of work as they'll have less/less employees and more work with their go big plans with low margins then burn you into the ground.

I doubt it matters; people are leaving in droves on their own terms as well. Perhaps with everyone wanting to leave layoffs won't even be needed...

Care to explain what you mean by "huge" and what you're basing this statement on?
