Thread regarding Noble Energy Inc. layoffs

I have never posted on this website but have watched it since I was laid off in April. The pain and the anger came back yesterday after seeing others having to go through the shock of being let go after giving a 110% percent and working for nothing in overtime and travel just to be walked out the door. There have been a lot of people writing childish and stupid stuff on here, but we all know that it is serious when it is our future. To be eliminated only because you had worked hard to get your salary and because you had become older, is hard to take. The younger generation come in with a huge salary, vacation and benefits and "I deserve this attitude". We worked for everything we got and climbed the ladder and appreciated our job and the work ethic we had learned through the years. I don't think the upper management understands that you have to have people that care for the company and appreciate what they have, to become a great company. The young people have to be involved in the process, but you have to make sure you have some people to teach them and show them the ropes of the industry or you company will not be a success. You can hand a title to someone but that doesn't mean they have the experience to carry the title. I was angry when I was thrown out of Noble. I got great reviews and I did a great job just as some of you have that have been let go. All I can say is "Tuesday is Gone" as Skynyrd would say - that may be before some of your time. Know that there is life out there - I have a new job now and I am happy. I have learned to step back some and not to feel like I have to go overboard to get the job done well. I still work hard, but Noble has taught me, you are just a number. At least, in my new job there is no back stabbing. We work together and get it done. There is people laughing throughout the day which was a shock when I started. Take a few days to get the anger out and then just figure out what you want to do and do it. Don't let the toxic atmosphere and toxic personalities of the people there making the decisions ruin what happiness you can have. That's all I have, just had to share and to say take control of your life. It feels good after letting Noble's zombies control you for so long. Good Luck and God Bless!
