Thread regarding Target Corp. layoffs

Sticking around to see TTS and Target implode.

I want to be there to tell the story firsthand to my Grandchildren how I witnessed the destruction of another great American company, with a proud heritage, by incompetent Senior leadership. Then I'll leave along with everyone else, this is going to be fun.

199361&199617, just curious. Do you want to ever personally succeed or do you just want Target to succeed? You are out of your mind.

@200044 I never said it changed. I said we're actually set up for success for the first time since I started working here 10 years ago. We now have a LOT of changing to do. I want Target to succeed and I'm willing to work for it. Losers like OP who just want a free ride and feel that Target owes them a living for doing nothing in return need to be singled out and thrown out on the street.

Anonymous199361 - has it really changed, or are you just buying into the new story line?

Ok, make all the changes you want, pretend you are making a difference, whatever. Consumers are going to continue migration to Amazon and B&M is done, including Target.

199617 is right. "BC" though is really of no consequence.... Drastic changes needed to be made, the you/him us/them BS is irrelevant. You'd have to be blind to not see that real changes are being made in the stores, the assortments and the over all sense of urgency in how we run our business. The HQ support staff BALLOONED and needed to be culled. Move on or dig in.

199617, there are more of "me" at Tgt than "you". The blinders came off when BC indiscriminately laid off thousands over the last year. You are a commodity to him, not a valuable asset, he will throw "you" away when he no longer wants you around, like a piece of garbage. Go ahead and work your a$$ off for them.

Thanks for proving my point OP. To all the rest of us who would like Target to succeed, we need to start shining spotlights on losers like OP. Call them out regularly. Point out to your management how they're not pulling their weight and that they're dragging the team down. Better yet, tell them to their face that you don't want to work with them and they should go be a boat anchor somewhere else.

After years of terrible "leadership," TTS is finally in a position to actually succeed. We now have more employees than contractors, the disastrous "right work right team" model has been undone, and we're starting to accept that things like (gasp) open source software might be better than paying a vendor millions to answer phone calls and create a ticket for us. We also finally have a CIO who actually understands technology! What a concept! The only way we'll fail now is because of the people who work here. If you're not on board with changing for the better, do us (and the shareholders) all a favor and find somewhere else to work. Seriously. For the rest of us, let's get going!!!

It was so great to hear TTS sr. Leadership inform us that all the POS, MyDevice and Distribution systems are runnng like clockwork. Good job boys, now stores have no excuses left.

Not trying to stick up for BC but many retail stocks are ranking. Blame being put on weather, strong dollar, etc

And don't forget big stock buybacks with whatever cash target can generate.

Stock is tanking big time again today, maybe analysts starting to realize there is no "there" there from BC hype last year....he will own this now. Which of course will lead to more downsizing, selling off pieces and outsourcing functions. Good luck everyone, another bumpy year ahead for team members trying to make a living.

Interesting target stock closed down today, as the quarterly results were closed internally, against an up day for walmart and amazon. Who was selling???

194529: My hat off to you. I should do the same. Regarding mannequins, they bring to the table so much less arrogance than these dorks in leadership positions... ugh! Good luck and the last one to leave the building make sure to turn off the light!

Thank goodness that there is someone from the bowels of the organization who is infinitely smarter than the executives to point out the folly of their ways. I'm sure you have much to share.

I've heard that manequines have proven quite successful at increasing sales. Maybe we should replace all senior leadership and board with manequines and see what happens.
