ConAgra doesn't want to pay severance. They want people to cave in and find other jobs so they don't have to pay severance.
When you say you should already have an idea if your position will be outsourced, is it because they are telling people? How do you have an idea?
From my understanding what is left now is what will be outsourced. You should already have an idea if you will be or not.
As for Chicago...it is basically a food industry hub. So being able to get skilled individuals in certain positions will be easier than getting them to move to Omaha.
Also, ConAgra needs to be competitive with others in the industry who are becoming leaner in sg&a the same way we r having to. It's unfortunate but it's the ways of the times we r in right now.
Those people won't be working harder...remember we were told Chicago has more innovated and talented people than Omaha so I'm sure they will work even harder than the Omaha folks, right???
“a much more lean, efficient and productive company to drive further success for our business.” In other words, they're going to make the remaining people work harder and longer hours for less money. The CEO will surely get a bigger bonus for dreaming this up. If I worked for them I quit now and go work for the competition.
