What is the likelihood of Micron Technology layoffs in Boise in 2016? Please let me know if you have any information.

All I here is people complaining about their jobs and wanting to get fired. Of you hate it that much, quit so us people who actually want to work here and don't "stand around and do nothing all day" can get the raises we can't because selfish people like you guys don't do sh-- but complain and take money away from those who actually earn their pay checks
In our dept they may as well close the doors the second half of the week. Absolutely no work. There was a time not long ago when cell phones were not allowed in the work area. Now we all come to work to use our phones all day. Thank god for games! Oh and thanks Micron for paying me for paying for no reason. Have to go now. I have to take another survey!
I have been here long enough to know that the company will deny and possible chance of layoffs and then all of a sudden they will announce a layoff. They don't want anyone to leave until they decide they will be leaving. They want to hold all the cards. If you are working in certain areas, no one has to tell you how bad things are. The assembly area looks like a ghost town compared to what it was. Things don't look good.
We are so slow. Why don't they reduce the number of workers so we can stay busy during the day. No one wants to lose their job, but we have been dead in our dept for a long time. Sooner or later they will send our jobs overseas anyway. Why not end the misery now?
Does anyone know if there is a plan to layoff anyone?

A company loss this quarter and another company loss predicted for next quarter. There will obviously be no raise Again! How can the company say they are on a "cost cutting" program when they continue to pay employees to stand around all day and do nothing? Where is the common sense approach to continuing to pay people to do nothing or to have ten employees to do the work of three?

When a company pays it's employees to do nothing day after day, month after month, they clearly have no idea what is really going on in their business. No one has the integrity to tell their bosses the truth so everyone thinks everything is fine. I know ....Let's take another survey! When the results are"calculated" and it shows much we all love our jobs and are completely satisfied with EVERYTHING, we can continue to do Nothing every day! Thank goodness we have a cafeteria to spend our day in. Lay offs are coming.Micron wants our jobs in China--PERIOD.
Any company that pays employees to do nothing day after day, month after month clearly has no idea what is going on in their business. LET'S TAKE ANOTHER SURVEY! When the "results" are calculated we will know once again how happy and productive everyone is. What a Joke! No one who actually works here believes that!
How reliable is the source for that? Some of us desperately want layoffs to happen, so it can't happen soon enough.
I heard March is the month that decisions on layoffs will be made. The scope of that is unknown, but clearly, how long can they pay workers to do nothing? VERY SLOW!
No raise. No bonus. President just resigned. Stock is down and going nowhere. What does it seem like to you?

if you are not highly skilled it is only a matter of time. Boise is going to be an R&D factory only. Everyone else, which is most of us will eventually find themselves out the door. Get a tech or engineering degree then you have a 50/50 chance of staying. Too bad, but that's just the way it is. I am sure there are plans to let many employees go. They just haven't told us yet. No raise in years. Higher cost for us to pay for our benefits. Forced to take our TOP TIME the way the company wants us to. NOT ENOUGH WORK for everyone Yeah, duh, there's going to be layoffs!. Who wants to work here anyway. It is a completely different company.We are being left behind for China.Money is everything; but not for us. We don't get any of it.
I agree with most of what has been previously said. After eighteen years, clearly the company has decided to move and become an Asian company. Forget all the company SPIN. The work is going to a select few. When a company takes away jobs and fills them with "token" replacement jobs, you are wasting the companys money by having good jobs replaced by "What shall we do today" jobs. If there is not enough work Downsize, and let the higher seniority employees stay!

I have been with Micron for 22 years. This place has changed 100% and not in a good way! Lay=-offs coming? Hell yes!
Same in our dept. The company has shipped our jobs to Asia; now they scramble around to try to find us something to do.If they don't need us why don't they just be honest?
The entire focus of the company is directed oversees. Layoffs are just a matter of time.
All of our work was sent to China. Why wouldn't there be lay-offs?
Business is bad. They need to streamline their operations until business gets better, then fill in with temps.
They keep hiring temps even there is no work to train them to do. Everyone stands around all day and spend all their time using their phones.
Fairly good possibility. They are paying workers in my Department to do nothing! Night supervisor making $60,000 at night to supervise three people. Day workers have little or no work for months. How long can this go on?
