Thread regarding National Oilwell Varco Inc. layoffs

Clay Williams just gives a damn about his pockets. Layoff the workers, all are replaceable at a lower wage.

I don't think that is the case, Clay is not lining his own pockets at the expense of others.

In-the-know sounds like he may be around 12 years old. Get back to your school work son.

I find it hilarious that people like anonymous 191462 come here pretending to be an employee believing they cannot be detected by those of us who are employees. They leave obvious clues in their nonsensical & ridiculous comments. First of all NOV did not lay off in the 100's. It was over thousands. The ass anonymous 191462 obviously thinks we have facilities only in Houston. Didn't stop to think there are other states and countries. Second, NOV isn't near as big as Schlumberger. Schlumberger is a giant compared to NOV therefore they have triple the employees we do, another reason why Scumberger laid off a lot more than NOV. Fourth, NOV does not want to make any noise about their layoffs so they cautiously and meticulously ensure not to go over a certain number, keeps em safe & out of the media. A major plus for NOV. After all it's all about the $$Money$$ ...so next time you non-NOV posers come here to comment make sure you do your homework or else you'll end up looking like a confused dementia patient.

Count your blessings?? NOV seems to be cautious and considerate? What a joke? Are you high or delusional or did you stagger to this forum from Schlumberger or some other service company forum...So you are saying we should be thankful cause NOV laid off in the 100's ??? You obviously don't work at NOV otherwise you wouldn't be making such stupid comments. NOV has laid of in the thousands since late 2014. They aren't looking out for their employees they look out for themselves and their stockholders/investors. That's why they are so cautious so they won't scare off their stockholders and investors it has nothing to do with the employees. Now stagger back to your own companys lay off forum.

You know what's crazy, my buddy at GE said, NO ONE received a cost if living pay increase across the board and NO ONE expects one in 2016. Now where does that put NOV employees if purchased? On a faster road to the Unemployment Line. Another Lufkin in the making and more sooner than Later.

Count your blessings. NOV seems to be cautious and considerate with layoffs so far. If we worked for Schlumberger, bet half of us would be out by now. These other service companies lay off en masse compared to hundreds at NOV. Not saying that we didn't feel the impact, but it's a slow one compared to drastic cuts. Gives us time to prepare, seek better opportunities and save money till it comes. That's all I've been doing to protect myself.

They are trying to hide the money nov earned past 10 years for their lavishing families of multiples they are guilty perpetrated against the helpless while they are purchasing expensive houses, going on long vacation trips to resorts. They try to fool everyone. Stab the very same they partied with in the presence of cops standing on the head to sign

How are they going to replace them when the revenue isn't there to support nor sustain the current workforce. Sorry pal, but this is fundamental business. It's not personal, in a way it can be, it's just business. This how industry downturns work, especially when companies over-hire to exceed demand.

Don't think so. It's a business not a personal venture.
