Thread regarding Schlumberger Ltd. layoffs

Practical Suggestion to SLB Management

I have a common sense suggestion to the SLB management. If you are going to layoff another 10-15% of SLB personnel. Why not implement a temporary pay cut across the board @ 10-15%. (FROM UPPER Management and lower level personnel included)

When business picks up; reinstate back the salary cut to the SLB personnel plus add any merit or bonus that might be appropriate given. Its a win-win situation for all parties concern.

Ur salary is nothing for them. It's ur Healthcare and the other benefits that they don't want to pay for it. That's what they call wast of their money.this money doesn't come back

Because the salary of an employee isn't their true cost to the company. Even if they cut your salary by 10-15%, they still pay your travel costs, health insurance, 401k, health insurance for all your kids. Laying off is much cheaper. It's not as easy as just cutting everyone's salary by a little when times get tough in order to get the company back to profitability

Heh, you don't get it. They don't Like you, they don't want you, you are a liability. You're too old, too slow, make too much money, and have too many health issues to be of any value to them. You are cutting into their bonuses. They just want you GONE!!
