Anyone currently employed by the Pittsburgh online division should probably start rethinking their options if they are not down to relocate.

There has been talk of moving Aio out of Pittsburgh for years. A few years ago it was discussed that it would be moved to Atlanta. Current rumor is credible.

AIO can run its headquarters from anywhere really, just because the accreditation is through Middle States doesn't mean they won't reduce to a minimal presence at the Pittsburgh offices. And this isn't about the entire AI operation, just Online. And its been my experience that they only are true to the letter of the law in most cases.

It points out one of the chief flaws in the design and conception of the business model: poorly educated people involved in the business of education. The accreditation has nothing to do with where AR's are recruiting from. What do the actual online "degrees" say now - Phoenix? Well there you have it. Physical location of the AR's are of no relevance or impact so that does not mean Pittsburgh won't shut down.

It might be cheaper to run the online school in Phoenix, but AiO's accreditation is through the Middle States accrediting body which only deals with PA. So, unless they want to try to get the online school accredited through a different body, it probably won't happen.

Pittsburgh is too expensive and the source of a lot of bad press. Phoenix is easier to hide away in.

So basically they would close argosy, AI, South, doc processing, recovery, and Pit HR in Pittsburgh and move everything to Arizona? What's the source for this? It's one of those rumors that's a little too specific to be out of no where.

I heard this as a rumor but this will not start until after the holidays. Then Pittsburgh center should start to downsize, until it is entirely closed down by the Spring and the Phoenix center will be expanded.
