Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

The opportunities are excellent outside of Intel. Jump in everyone

I was laid off in July, had a new job in July, received a very nice severance package, free medical for 1 year, a 22% pay increase in new position, 4 weeks vacation first 3 years followed by 5 weeks with sabbatical every 7 years too, and potential bonuses that exceed the great bonus system Intel has. Folks, don't feel bad about leaving Intel, the opportunities are excellent outside of Intel right now.

Intel is a tough company to learn your way around. I watched so many smart young engineers crash and burn there because they simply couldn't seem to figure it out.

Nobody is saying the older Intel employees are without skill. It is just the income they are being paid versus what they actually contribute. The fairest thing for Intel to do is freeze their raise (or reduce the salary) every Focal cycle, but if course that will never happen.

Let's see if I can use the RCG poster formula... Statement of hate for the old. Assertion that the old are inferior to the young (no data). Assertion that the old have little or no skills (no data). Statement of hate for the old with expletive (optional 2nd expletive). Assertion of skills of young (no data). Statement of hate for old with expletive.... rinse, repeat :)

Hey losers, why don't you join a company that cleans clogged pipes, drains or sinks? You guys just have the skills to do such jobs now. Or think about working for some trash clearing firm. Sorry, didn't realize that you guys are looking for jobs that just involves relaxing and getting paid.. Intel was your honeymoon destination and that too for decades. So, better migrated to Compton or Bronx where you can lead a happy life in the slums.

I was laid off too. Found a job with more pay as well. Life outside of Intel is great. Let the young people learn the hard way. I don't care.

Hello friend, I am sad to know abt what you have been through and honestly wish you get another job. Please look for the competitors of intel and try your luck there - Qualcomm, Texas Instruments, ST Microelectronics, Samsung, AMD, Nvidia, Microchip technology, IBM or Oracle to name a few. All companies prefer to take folks from their competitors. I wish you all the very best and hoping to see a happy comment from you after you get a job.

I was laid off from Intel in July. I am over 50 so am having a difficult time finding another job since very few companies want to hire older workers.

So, the most exciting part of your offer is the "free money" that you are going to get in the new company, right? No wonder you were shown the door from intel, which is suffering because of your types.
