Dain Walker is making the Quarry great again!

Not just the best metro-hipster fashion of any SW STL, he's clearly in touch with San Antonio and the importance of cutting ties with bothersome longtime guests. Most of the folk who had shopped the Quarry for years have expressed dissatisfaction with the TMs they trusted most being severed, and negative changes, not to mention their part-time untrained replacements who don't even know the difference between "organic" and "nitrates" and don't care to learn to answer questions about GMOs, gluten, or anything the customers who helped build this company care about. That's when Dain comes to the rescue, offering a free plastic bottle of water while escorting these pesky relics to the parking lot.

Dain also knows exactly which TMs to get rid of to make this store great again. Famous for busting people for name-tag, cut-glove or tardy infractions and following up to write up and FIRE everyone who is not a cute young girl. Cute girls get a pass from him so much it's a common joke even the ASTL pair doesn't deny. Writing up All-Star TLs for any team-infraction occurring on their day off is also a good way to insure that they can let go of anyone they want, anytime they want. Soon it will be all tattooed chicks and bearded dudes with nazi-hipster haircuts all singing the praises of this psychopath and his starting-wage Whole Foods clique.

It got so much worse with Christy. Character assassination if she got the vibes from you. At least Megs was comical, and with the liquor on her breath daily not likely to make an example of you. Dain was just a rich kid that messed around with whole body chicks and cashiers and that's why they canned him and brought Christy in to fire/alienate those making over $14 an hour. Brought expenses way down so the Quarry could life-support to the buy out.

Senior Applying for a job...

I recently applied for a kitchen helper job. A nice recruiter from HR called me, pre-interview, asked me several questions and then said, that I answered them organically. I was granted an interview. I arrived 15 min early and was asked to take a seat.

A little after 4:30 a tall man walked up and I rose to shake his hand and greeted him and used his name....to which he replied...oh??? He asked me to follow him to the back, stating they were busy. I felt compelled to apologize and he said it's ok, I have others later when .......(he mumbled under his breath...)

We walk to the back room....he did not turn on the lights...it was a employee breakroom...We sat in the dim light....him very far from me.... He asked me 3 questions....

  1. Tell me about Yourself...

  2. Can you use a knife?

  3. What job are you applying for? I guess he didn't know???

I was positive and eager to be a part of Whole Foods. I believe the Whole Foods concept is so very important to good nutrition and wellness.

He picked apart my answers and threw them back at me in a condescending way...making me feel unconfortable. I asked him what they were looking for exactly and he basically read back verbatim...what I had said. He seemed uninterested....bored almost. I told him I was a happy person and liked to get along with everyone...he said...yea..we have a couple of those here.....then proceeded to tell me something to the effect that the job was fast paced and that I would have to do this and that wherever I was needed....I said I would be willing to do whatever was needed.

Long story short.....

If I received the interview solely because of my age...and their diversity policy......to save face....I would have rather have saved my time and gas.

It's truly YOUR loss Whole Foods.

I am an awesome person, who loves people. I believe in Customer First Principals and take pride in my work. After reading some of these reviews...I think you did me a favor.

LOL no wonder everyone else considers qry the Richardson of San Antonio. Any time I go down to SA and end up checking out the store I feel gross. I actually been taken on a field trip w my team as a "what not to do" walk. The store is a joke. No wonder cuz the team members are more concerned about hair color and what there stl is wearing then they are about doing their jobs. Maybe we'll get lucky and another lay off will wipe qry out of the company

To be honest the hair dye thing has always come and go along with other pet-peeve dress code violations that put you at the behest of your STL and their preferences. I've worked for this company for about 7 years now and have seen 5 STLs come and go from this store. When I first started with the company we had a tattooed rockabilly of an STL who didn't care. He was followed by someone right out of college who also didn't care. The next guy had a dislike for facial piercings so I had to say adios to my septum piercing. A few months in to his job at our store he changed his mind (sort of) and nose rings were allowed. He too also banned "unnatural" hair colors. Towards the end of his reign that ended. Then Dain came in and established his own set of rules. TL;DR: Every STL brings arbitrary dress code rules with them and sometimes they change with the same STL. It's really not that big of a deal considering this company still lets you be up to your neck in tattoos and still earn decent wage with wiggle room to move up. In fact, the dress code still remains rather lenient. I'm sure there are people from other companies just laughing at us for considering this to be a problem.

Oh man the hair dye thing.

F*ck that noise.

He wanted everyone to look like his twisted ideal.

Did you see the kind of people that shopped at Qry? NO ONE CARED ABOUT HAIR COLOR..nooooo oooone.

He made a huge deal about how certain TMs at the store had to dye their hair to NATURAL HAIR COLORS ONLY. No red reds, no red purple, only normal colors like blonde (I'm Mexican)??? Those who didn't got write-ups a week later. The ASTL was allowed to keep her red-streak for some reason. Never set foot in there again I go to the Vinyard Now I can't believe they still let that cocky privileged A-Whole destroy the morale and integrity of the whole store.

If by rockstar you mean he is an arrogant fascist with neurotic sociopathic tendencies and an alcohol problem...sure.

He is the most fake, shallow human being i have ever encountered. Always eager to please at any coat, especially the TMs- no wonder he's a regional lapdog.

I've worked with him and I guess what happens outside WFM should stay outside.A dui does not define a person . I think people should move on with their lives as WFM moves on with such radical choices . after all, TMs are just a number to WFM .
