Agree. I have seen a high grade doesn't need to do actual work rather planning and set direction for others. But his daily work is playing poker on screen since he doesn't understand anything the team is doing, SSL4/5 do not apply to him since he is the budy of manager. They are not Indian.

So, you are tying to twist the story and direct it towards H1B. If you don't consider your workplace to be safe, just resign and go away.. It's so simple. Did anyone compel you to stay employed? Even if you go away, your employer will find another person (perhaps, even better than you) to fill that position. You can look for some freelance positions where you can work from home. Of course, you will not be able to take WFH or leave early for silly reasons like cat didn't sneeze today, dog poop was long, toilet flush was not working, alarm didn't sound, etc, as such sneak-away hours will not more be paid.

No, it is not safe.. Sit at home and watch TV.. Ask the govt to pay you 100k and cover your medical insurance. This is the safest and best option for you.
