Thread regarding Gulfstream Aerospace layoffs

I call bull

If the company is hurting for money, why have there been several meetings with catered food this past week? If money is scarce, why are we having the annual employee dinner this Tuesday? Will leadership give away the usual Playstations, Xboxes, dvd players, iPads and gift cards? Why would any company pay contractors time and a half for overtime when NO ONE else in any industry does this? Why do we pay HCL almost $300 for desk moves and almost $200 to deliver computers/accessories? The biggest waste of money at Gulfstream is caused by poor project planning and scope, poor allocation of resources, poor communication between IT groups etc... Who is responsible for this waste? The managers and directors who you all know and love.

I'll tell you way. Because you're right, they are not hurting as badly as they'll have you believe. They are still making a profit, and not a bad one either. It's just that they are not making what they told their stock holders they were going to make, which puts THEIR job at risk. Instead of taking the blame, lets cut some people. That's the truth.
