The industry trend is away from large Mega stores and into independent stores. Follett is a mega-store spread across the country. What is appealing about that? It's Amazon without the savings?

"Put CNS in charge, we'll fix it." Haha that's what they said four years ago and look where we are.....All fixed.
Great booksellers stocking material their clients will buy. It doesn't get much more simple than that. With 18 levels of SR VP above the retail level, it is impossible to have a low cost infrastructure. When the president, CEO, chairman of the board, and majority stock holder is putting the book into the hands of the customer, it doesn't get any leaner or more effective than that. Lord Todd couldn't find a store much less a book if he had to. When was the last time he spoke to a real customer. Not a college kid who is required to buy a book. I'm talking about a customer who wanders into the store and who may or may not be willing to drop $150 on a couple of interesting books and a T-shirt?

Prime match is on the way. Match competitor retail prices without the low cost infrastructure to not erode margin.
